Forced game advertisement
I'm pissed that you took over my library news and gave GTA5 precedence for whatever their latest scam is, I've dumpstered the game and I'll do the same with my account if you do it with any other games.

Click on the little double arrow at the top right of the tag and ask to be shown less like that. Steam can't control Rockstar's pushing out stories but it can make it easy for you to ignore them.

It was a new overlay that completely covered it, with a preload message for their new version, not the typical news

It is not a scam. You own the original game. Everyone who does is getting the Enhanced version for free. You are being alerted to that.

If you don't want it, click ignore and get on with the rest of your day.
They usually do that with every new acquisition or newly released preordered game in the library but I guess now that a company has discovered a new UI feature they can put ads in this could be a new trend. I suspect this was a strange case because of the remaster being given out to everyone though

It's not the content I take issue with necessarily, it's the steam client giving it precedence .

If it wasn't prominent enough, people would complain about not having known about it, and surprised there's this new game they never bought.

You called an ad. It's not an ad. Nothing about that banner is asking you to buy anything and it's alerting you of something you are getting for free. That same banner is used for any pre-ordered game you might purchase to make users aware that it's ready to play or pre-load in this case.

You're taking offense to it because you don't like the game. Fine. Click the ignore button and move on.

If they want to show me something new that I didn't subscribe to they can put it on the store, I don't want any meddling with what I see in the library regardless of how beneficial it may be to some.
I'm calling for more ads to be added to Steam.
it was kidna annoying, but once you dismissed it should be gone. Although i did laugh they want me to use up 90gb of space on a game i havent played in years and do not intend to return to any time soon
