Use an entirely different mechanism for the "You've received a new Community Message" notifications than the notifications page.
Since anyone can, has and still does write a forum post, etc with that exact title it seems legit when not, etc.
This way nobody could mistake a user created message with one from steam. I get a heart attack each time and then I realize the actual title is thanking me for reporting. Now why does the notification not have that title but something else?

I've been asking for the separation of the types of moderation messages for ages.

I've even asked for the filters moderators have.

In ValveTime... maybe

But at least they are typically sent out once a day at the same time, 6PM Pacific Time.

Well I just reported one in that other forum. I hope they get the message.
Honestly I have no idea why Valve insists on saving every one of these messages in an undeleteable system. I really don't need 600 now messages of thanking me for helping Valve remove rule breakers

Because they reused the warning/ban notifications which are undeletable by the user.

As a company, you have to be pretty dirty to ignore even the most active user on your forums.

But anyway, that's Valve... people will keep praying Gaben.
