Get Rid of DEID
DEI Detected, or DEID only exists to harass other people and harass developers. It exists to try to force censorship in games. And has been used to spew hatred across all of Steam. This is a call for the mods to actually shut down the group to stop this organized Harassment Campaign!

Edit on March 11th: Turns out that the evidence proved me wrong.

Well ♥♥♥♥, they're above board. I was wrong about them. Though I kinda disagree about no NSFW, but I understand that they might not all be adults, so gotta cover your bases on that one.

Since I'm going to rightfully get a monthly by tomorrow and hopefully this topic will be shut down. I apologize for making a judgement call without all of the information. Figured I'd get this out of my system now so it doesn't haunt my thoughts.

Screenshot and post them. If you have evidence, I will admit that I was wrong. I mean I am inclined to believe you, but I don't change my mind on word alone.

No, he doesn't. But it's well documented that you do.

Please provide evidence that the DEID steam group does what you are claiming it does.

By the definition you're claiming, you're "advertising" the forum rules. So that clearly isn't where the line is drawn.
Just so you realize, I'm not trying to report anything here. I'm just pointing at the rules for the sake of questioning what exactly applies to it or not. I didn't report anything.

I'm not even claiming anything, in fact. I took these rules directly from the tos and asking what applies or what doesn't. Would mods close a thread because of the last one?
The usual phrasing this board prefers is "Can be considered (whatever rule you are violating)" as the passive voice leaves only technicalities to argue with. Always helps to learn the "When in Rome" customs.

Then again, the board also holds that if the mods say the ban was excessive, it does not mean the rules were not violated. As with most things, the board's positions are first and foremost concerned with the questions of "Who? Whom?" before any facts can be selected.

This aspect of consideration is also the best answer to the following oft-repeated concern:

to make the public aware of (something or someone) especially by means of a published or broadcast notice

Unfortunately, what would be used here would be definition 1a, which you have conveniently tried to withold.

to present (something or oneself) to the public in a way that is intended to attract customers : promote

As I merely have a work in progress, I was merely proving that it isn't just a claim, that it exists. I have no product to sell.

Now you could argue that the definitions of 2a and 2b do apply

to make (something) publicly and generally known

archaic : to make something known to (another person or persons) : notify sense 1

But that would apply to... everything really. Literally everything. Including DEID itself. Whoops. :lilacstare:

I've already stated that I wouldn't last long enough in their discord group to gather evidence. And I have no moles within the discord group. So all I have to go by is observations, and considering they had to take down their discussion forums and then blamed it on the "woke"... I'm inclined to believe the evidence exists, but it's outside of my reach.

You do know that by that definition, the giveaway thread is just advertising right?People asking and getting recommended games is advertising.

But we both know Steam doesn't mean that definition alone and means it in a marketing sense.
You maliciously change quotes all the time, so I will just assume you are making this up to. Moving on.
I'm only mimicking what I see here in those instances.

So we cannot 100% say that the DEID group is acting in the way you say it is. What I believe is more likely is that people within that group are attacking games they find "woke" of their own accord, separate to the groups interests.

DEID has a website which contains a list of all games (and is constantly updated) that they have determined to be "woke", with the intent that it provides its members with this information to help them know what games to not buy. I have no doubt that rogue members of said group are likely using this list as a means to target games and their developers.

Outside of this, there are always going to be random people who are generally "anti-woke", but are not a part of groups like DEID, spending their time raging over games that are designed in a way they don't like, obviously around "woke" standards.

Oh, I'll admit I've edited quotes. Not maliciously, just to show a point and in response to edited quotes happening.

Like I know how the above will be edited as a type of admission only further proving my point.

I trim quotes. I never change them, and I always leave them linked back to the original post.

not sure stalking their discord or try to gather info through their discord is going to work how you would like.

this is a steam group, they are breaking zero rules on steam, thus your aren't getting rid of them, nor will valve remove them because some forum user, is trying to gather w/e supposedly "legit" cherry picked info you might find from random individuals, whom also aren't the owner/owner of the group.

deid will be staying and likely won't stop being a thing until those sexist/racist extremist dei firms kick rocks as nd leave our entertainment alone and go make their own stuff, that likely won't get bought.

Well as others have noted if someone just has it out for a group and isn't going to be there for a constructive, good faith discussion - ANY server is prone to remove people there for unwelcome reasons.

It's not personal beliefs, its actions & behavior.

The fact you had to try to accuse me of trying to stalk them says more about you than it says about me, friend.

Wait til they turn their comments and forums back on. It'll happen.

That's not happening, and you people have absolutely no problem going after original IPs because you view your own made up boogeyman as being involved with them. And when they do sell like crazy, you have to attempt to backtrack and pretend you never said it was woke.

I actually agree with this! If only the angry mob would express themselves through purchasing habits instead of neverending hate campaigns and toxic and counter-productive "us vs them" rhetoric.
The woke mob is no better, look at the hate campaign against Hogwarts Legacy and one of the devs working on it

Both sides put forth hate campaigns against Hogwarts Legacy, let's be real here. People were losing their minds about Sirona being in game. That whole "No, it's we who bought it to show the wokies" is a hard cope at the realization that the majority of gamers don't care about the culture war.

Well, it seems clear this is just having it out for a group with nothing behind it because they label stuff people don't want to buy. Seriously, let this go.

So, something the group creator did not say, did not do, did not encourage, did not write, somehow would be true if they merely allowed comments? No, the groups creator made it clear about unwelcome stuff in their pinned thread. Hence why they aren't willing to communicate with individuals that have questionable to hostile intentions.

Let. It. Go.
