Allow players to filter out games made with Gen AI
Next Fest February is coming up and I don't have any interest in playing demos from games that use Generative AI in their development. It would be good if an option was added to filter these games in the same way players can already filter Adult/NSFW content.

VALVe just wants you to do nothing illegal.

But I wonder what your stance is, for example, towards photographs that were later converted into textures by using whatever tools necessary for the operation?

How is that different from using "A.I. tools?"
In both of these cases life-generated content is used. And people may or may not have the proprietary rights to it.
Content such as that is essentially different from something that was made from scratch. Something made from scratch could've been inspired by an existing object, but it's not a direct copy of a physically existing object that was later converted by automations.
The difference is a person took(or paid for) the picture and then either edited the image by hand(with a digital image editing program) to create the desired texture or applied it outright.

And no, an AI generator isn't a digital image editing program. Since I know that will be an argument tried.

Im done interacting with you, you're very clearly just a troll out to start crap. You're deliberately misreading so you can be right. No one here is paid. They are actual members of the public with real opinions you troll.
You don't have to be paid. Your definition you posted even leaves that out.

The amount of replies was presented as genuine members(as you can see in the reply from OP to me) when they were fans of OP and instructed to come here and show support.

That's what makes it astroturfing. Like your definition says "in the guise of unsolicited comments from members of the public."

"when they were fans of OP"

Hi, im one of the people here from the tumblr link. I am not a fan of OP, nor have i seen their blog before.

The post was shared around, because people agree with its ideas. Not because theyre fans of OP.

I do not know or have any opinions on OP, other than that I agree with their idea of filtering AI games.

Are you against people sharing links to Steam Discussions? does the link being shared to steam players rather than us scouring the forum mean we dont get to have an opinon?

Sharing links to encourage engagement from outside the site is the astroturfing I'm talking about.

This is not even close to astro turfing. Quit trolling.
Please implement this!!
Adding a comment as a sign of support. Yes please! I want to filter genAI slop, and any game that uses genAI in any part of their development.
Yes, more filter options would always be a great addition to any store.
Since the 80's we have AI on games. Any game that has singleplay match, relatively advanced NPC, etc has AI.

If u mean use tools with AI features while creating a game, most tools are getting those. u'll be very limited if u wanna play only games with no AI.
100% yes please. I have a limited amount of time for games, and I look forward to sitting down for Next Fest Demo days looking for my new favorites. Would love not to have to waste game time checking the AI disclaimer on every title that looks interesting. I want to spend my time and money supporting real people who have committed to their art, not wading thru AI nonsense.
Ai is such a buzzword nowadays. it is being used even for algorithms that have nothing to do with its own intelligence (as it is just a set of instructions that run under certain conditions).
the point is, what is Ai in games sometimes? is it custom artwork? was that artwork really made using Ai or just some algorithmic melting of real life photos? if I edit Ai's work is it now original work? if it is just npc's dialogues is anyone even noticing it to make it worth to have bad publicity on my game's page?
although it would be cool to have many more filters on steam, an Ai filter would rely a lot on a dev's honesty if it is really tried to cover it up. Like cod's Ai skins, if nobody said they were Ai, who would notice really?

From what I can read in op's message it's about Generative AI, so like the things used to make all those really bad AI videos on Youtube or fake AI generated images on Facebook and other places, at least from how I understod the op's post

It's not that bad recently, and it gets better by time. Here is a random example (couldn't find the comparison video I was looking for): https://www.tiktok.com/@ai_masterrrrr/video/7456473348747365654
For the average user if the dialogue, music and artwork is convincing and pleasant they won't notice nor care

Personally I've gotten allergic to Generative AI videos and voiceovers since my previous work place started incorporating it into all the yearly training modules and whatever else they could use it in, but some are definitely better at using generative AI than others
Ethics be damned, I just don't want to see zero-effort slop. You can't even use generative AI "ironically" since that's too big of a gray area. Just make things bad on purpose by hand.
I can't believe they even allow platforms for plagiarism bots to shart out content here, but at the very minimum an option to say I don't want to see that would be great!
