Low quality avatars
Hi, it seems that every time you create an avatar on steam (for me it seems) the picture quality is relatively low. Also, it seems you cant adjust them either, ie: if i had a picture that isn't square, it would just fix the picture on one point and stay like that without the option to adjust it to a position of your preference...I think it would be a handy trick for steam since that the avatar is very important to some.

Well i think if you want to do it.. just make your avatar the right size to fit in :D: That is what most sites i know do...

Avatar Size Restrictions
  • The maximum file size is 200k.
  • The original image may be any resolution as long as the file size is under 200k. Steam Community will automatically resize the image to a square 184, 64, and 32 pixels.

So if you want to get the best i recommend you make the avatar on the size of 184x184 then you will be on the highest Steam support at these time.. and your photo will look on Steam just as on the PC

Guess i'm not the only one who does't like rescaled avatars. The point is they are just to small. It would be so great to make them at least 20-25% larger.
I've always resized my avatars, I've done a few tweaks, with little success so I dont know what's up with the quality...does it HAVE to be in 184 if i want good quality?

Well as that is what Steam will resize it too i think if you make it like that it will stay the same (only resize for the smaller avatars)

I think the main problem is they do not want to have very high Avatars that will take long time to load.. i mean think abut your friend list loading with HD Avatars XD
