Ability to remove Team Fortess 2 from the player's account and profile.
As you know, when you go to "Technical Support" you can completely remove the license of the selected game - which means that the game completely disappears from the player's account and profile. Sometimes it happens that we buy some crap and it happens that the time for return has already passed. Fortunately, thanks to the function of removing the game from the account - you can clear your profile of titles that we once liked, but today we no longer want this title on our account.

There are players like me - who care about the appearance of their profile - they care about quality. Steam is a great platform that allows us to present our profiles in a nice and pleasant way.

However, unfortunately... There are probably games that, after being added to the Library, are permanently assigned to our account. And even if we remove such a game using "Technical Support". Such a game is still visible on our profile. An example of this is Team Fortress 2.

I have a dream.

I recently decided that I want to completely remove all multiplayer games from my account. And that Steam would only serve me as a platform for high-quality Single Player games: God of War, Uncharted 4, Elden Ring, Witcher 3, etc. All Single Player gems. So I dream of deleting games like Counter Strike 2 or Team Fortress 2, etc. from my account.

And interestingly, I can completely delete Counter Strike 2 so that it disappears from my account. Unfortunately, it's Team Fortress 2 even when I delete it from my account. The game still appears in the "All Games" tab. I can probably use the privacy option and "hide the game". But I don't care that others can't see it. The problem is that I can still see it. I, the owner of my account, can still see the game that I don't want to see.

So I have a suggestion. It would be nice if Steam IT finally unlocked the ability to completely remove Team Fortess 2 from an account.

I would like the system for removing games from an account to be more user-friendly.
I would like it to be possible to completely remove Team Fortess 2.

And as soon as someone get access to your account, you will complain that they removed everything from your account

Valve already has an answer for that with stuff that has monetary value and the answer is "lol"

And that's a problem?
Dear friend, you are aware that all titles. All the games you bought aren't actually yours?
When you "buy a game" on Steam, you are actually only renting it. You are leasing. You purchase a so-called LICENSE. This means that you are actually buying TIME that allows you to play these games.

It's just like when you were a kid. You went to the Arcade - you paid a few dollars to play two hours of Crash 3 on PS1. If you wanted to play more in the Arcade, you paid more dollars. The only difference between Steam and a classic Game Room is that when you buy a game, you get unlimited time to play it. But you don't own the game. You won't even touch her.

Steam is a long-standing platform and I hope it will survive for another 10 years or more. But know that the day may come when VALVE may go bankrupt or break up into smaller companies. And maybe Steam will stop working. And then no one will give you back the money you spent on Steam. Because the regulations are clear. You buy Licenses.

So back to my answer. If someone hacked my account and deleted everything, what am I really missing? After all, these games do not belong to me. Steam only.

But you know what's mine? My profile. Player profile. My achievements and time spent in the game. The way he presents his profile. Favorite games. Favorite achievements - These display cases. These are things that are actually mine. And from Steam. I only require one thing from Steam creators and IT specialists - for it to work well. And that I would have complete freedom to change my profile and the way it presents the games I played.

In short. If I want Team Fortress 2 not to be on my account - I want it permanently deleted.

However, there are days when I regret selling my PS4 and instead of buying a PS5, I built a powerful gaming PC. I really regret not buying a PS5. The truth is that perhaps there was not much control over Player Profiles on PS - in fact, these profiles are crap on PS, but at least Sony is pro-customer - when there was a problem, I wrote an e-mail to support and they solved the problem immediately. Moreover, a PS5/PS4 player is a real player who, when buying boxed games, owns these games. And this is real ownership. Not digital games. But in a box, no one will take that away from you. Because even if your consoles are banned or your console is destroyed. Then you buy the second one. But you have games on discs.

We've had that discussion here every year for the past 15 years. WE KNOW.

It's far more likely the other digital stores are going to go down rather than Steam. Have you seen the user numbers? It keeps going up.

You'd be mighty mad if all of the bought games are just instantly removed. You might act tough now but if it where to happen you too you'd be singing another tune.
Because that would most likely be a lot of money down the drain.

Valve does not want to deal with such situations so they don't offer this feature.
You can hide a game but it won't hide the achievements.
Here is a list of games, apps, tools, and configurations in the Steam package (package 0):

https://steamdb.info/sub/0/apps/

Steam doesn't support removing one app from a package without removing the entire package.

You cannot unsubscribe from package 0 without fundamentally breaking the Steam client.
don't forget the inventory items as well

Yeah. What it boils down to here is that Valve should remove Team Fortress 2 from package 0. And Dota 2, for that matter.

It used to be the case that every single free thing, every demo, every free-to-play game, was in package 0, but they migrated most of them a long time ago to individual free-on-demand packages for each game, which is why the OP can remove CS2 from their account but not TF2.

I don't know why TF2 and Dota 2 are still in package 0; my only guess was that they are (or were) very popular games, so they didn't want to have every client which has them installed simultaneously hammer the servers getting a free-on-demand licence. That's probably not an issue for TF2 these days.

They removed Alien Swarm a while ago, so it's not out of the question that they'll do it.

Already possible
Support > I want to permanently remove this game from my account > Ok, remove the listed games from my account permanently

Also you can restore them
Support > Type game name in a search bar > Click on it > It's not in my library > Restore the previously removed package to my account

So i don’t get the point of your complaints. If the OP’s account gets stolen and everything except TF2 is removed, they’ll be fine with it. But if it becomes possible to remove Team Fortress 2 as well, then they’ll complain that everything was removed from their account?

It's in its own Free On Demand package now. Interestingly, it's one of very few games on Steam that is in only one package. There's no beta tester or developer package for Alien Swarm.

They removed it from the Steam package here:
https://steamdb.info/changelist/23320753/

If you had Alien Swarm in your library prior to that change, you no longer own a copy and need to re-request it from the store page or by trying to start up the game.

So you care about how others view your profile, except:

oh, you don't care about how others view your profile.

Until you more clearly understand what you want, and why you want it, I don't really know how to help you.

Try the hide function, see if that solves it, it does for me.

And you could always delete your steam account and start again.

Buddy I checked this literally as I was posting and I very much still have alien swarm on my account. Even still had my last played date stored still, from 2014.

Is Alien Swarm listed here? https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/

Because for me, it's listed as Complimentary on April 30, 2024, and if you know anything about me, you know that I was definitely playing Alien Swarm long before then.
