A tab to view a game server's info without (e.g. before launch)
Some of us play games that don't have a consistant multiplayer population,
and have the frequent annoyance of;
launching a game, loading, and waiting..

All to view or join servers for nothing as it's deserted.
Interestingly and obviously, we can always view a friend's game server status, including player numbers, names, scores and map..

Why can't we view this information alone, such as from a list of known servers?
No, it's not necessary, but it'd be another nice touch for Steam and would save many people 5 minutes or more a day and probably take 1 or 2 Steam employees the better part of an afternoon to code.

Edit: Put it in as a right-clickable tab panel in the games library. Done. :KneelingBow:

I remember being able to view TF2 servers outside of the game years ago. I couldn't possibly recall how to do it, though.

For games that support server list from Steam
Go to Steam Client, View, Servers
Pick the game you like
Boom done :D:

(is that what you asking for?)
Something like that, anyway I'd say if they had to backlog all games to enable it one by one, with permissions etc, it'd be a complicated process, but you can view your friends games already..
Was hoping lot's would chime in so it get's addressed.. OhNoBlue:

U can go to Desktop add a Shortcut then write :"steam://connect/<ip address>:<port>" then u can join servers from desktop. I think there must be some command to use instead of connect to just view.

I think there's no real dynamic way to see it by the Steam Browser Protocol, since the only command for servers is the "connect"
