Fix your Brazil payments gateway
Steam uses Boa Compra, a local company, to process its credit card payments. It is essentially the only way to pay if you are in Brazil -- and it does not work well.

I have had problems with it rejecting my payment without any explaining. That happens after a while, through email -- since Boa Compra is not integrated with Steam´s site. So unlike an integrated solution I have to cancel the order, and add every item to an empty cart again. But I am not complaining about that as much as I am complaining about *payments not going through".

I tried two different credit cards with Steam, a total of 4 tries. No luck. My 10 black friday deals, each placed again in the cart everytime, not purchased even though I want to. So, could it be a problem with my credit card, or with an international transaction? No, because just to make the point I went to Humble Bundle and I bought a bundle for a dollar with the very same card, between two failed attempts to pay in the Steam store.

Please make a payment solution as good as Humble Bundle's for Brazilian clients. Humble Bundle accepts CC, Paypal and Amazon Payments -- and all three work for Brazilians (I tried them on occasion). Steam offers one way, and it does not work.

Please drop Boa Compra and let us pay like HB does... thank you.

Hi man
Just a small suggesten to maybe help these speed up

Maybe try connecting company's for payments in your country and ask them to connect Steam abut it

Hopfully Valve dose it, but I think these may help

Thank you for the response.

I contacted them as I was posting the comment above. Their reply (I will post below) showed they have no clue about what is happening with the credit card company, and offered no help to investigate it. So... they pointed me to an alternative (a "boleto", a type of wire transfer) which is much less convenient than a good credit card. I am about to try it.

Anyway, it shouldn´t be so hard -- and Humble Bundle, Amazon, Aliexpress etc prove it doesn´t have to be.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond.

the problem about paymets is because in Brazil the bank didnt approove an international payment with a local coin.

Im already had tyhe same problem when blizzard do the same. But them fix backing to the USD for international payment for BR.

The only way to approve the payment on Reals is if there is a local service.

Well, I end getting it to work, after trying different credit cards. The problems is: it is clunky. Every time the CC fails i have to cancel the pending purchase and hunt all the items I had in my shopping basket again. It would be much easier if the system just asked to try again with a new credit card.

Also, the delay until you know everything is OK (email messages later instead of feedback right away) is not necessary, and compares bad with mostly any other internet shopping experience.
