Steam should start selling Anime,Manga and Comics.
The japanese Anime/Manga Industry is desperately looking for ways to expand and monetarize their products in the western hemisphere, and Steam could be the perfect vehicle for them.

Just partner up with Crunchyroll, Funimation etc or japanese companies directly. Sell an Episode for like 0.99 with discounts for whole series. People could buy this stuff like Games and integrate into their Library, theres already some Documentaries on here anyway.

I think the overlap of Userbase is very large for thise medium and Steam would offer great ease of use and All-in One type of deal that is very attractive for this clintel.

I think most likely the Company will need to connect Valve, and Valve is less likely to connect them, so you may be better talking to the company you think will like these, and offer the idea to them

Theres a lot of anime styled visual comics. Isn't that enough?

It's not happening pal, trust me, Valve is not going change their gaming "title" to anime and games... seriously... and I think there's enough weeaboos already so I don't think we need more from the steam userbase...
Well don't see why you say that, they all ready sale software, movies a long side the Games, so why not add Tv-Shows to that?
At least as long as it has some related part to a game? like there selling the Mad Max filems

Oh you mean the small handful of movies? Which you cannot find without searching it's name, and it does software because they are strongly related to games. Adding tv shows... pfft, what the hell do you think steam is?

I think its an entertainment platform, that means it can hold anything that has to do with entertainment that is also anime

This will only lead Valve into becoming another platform store like Google Play, Apple Store, Windows Store etc. . . . which really would blow when it comes to DRM. Its the downside to digital content because all the stuff you buy is bound to those stores and platforms. However if you use an app that wheels and deals periodicals then you might find that app across all platforms. .. . including mobile. . .. which is actually how it is nowadays. . . but then again your bound to that app.

I like this idea as either a streaming service or via download. It's already selling films so why not expand to anime?

I would like this Idea however i believe its still too early for that.
Valve is already trying to experiment around with selling movies as you can see but it seems like theyre not completly sure about the Movie thing yet (thats why they dont have a real category for movies aswell).
Personally i believe that Steam will slowly get more Movies and maybe TV Shows to Steam and maybe if time passes and it will be succesful in making money then they probably would start to enhance their Store for movies,TV shows,Anime and so on.

The movie market is already highly populated and competetive with amazon prime, netflix, hulu etc. same with music, but Anime and especially Manga have barely any representation online and would match much better with the steam user demographic. Personally i think its an untapped goldmine for both valve and the japanese industry but maybe im overthinking it.

As i said personally i would like this idea alot (as i really enjoy watching Anime)
And i also think your right that it could be goldmine especially since Steam has quite a lot people running around with Anime profile pics :P

Its just that i dont think we could easilly convince valve to think like we do.
Also if they would do this i would only like it if they would have a BIG library to choose from as i myself am not a fan of those sites were 50% of Animes are missing or where the popular ones cant be seen in certain countries.

Oh and a thing "i" also would reaaally dislike is if they would sell them and after you buy them you wouldnt have the option to change the language (or maybe you can but without subtitles) i worry about this because i see games sometimes which lock your language aswell which can be pretty annoying.
