currently, games cannot be transfered, and the only way that is going to happen is if you get the government to somehow force it to be an option. otherwise, the platform and the game developers have no interested in letting this happen.
OP. It's not gonna happen, and it doesn't need to you can simply family share your game from an old account to a new account.
This story doesn't make much sense.
I mean what if there was some issue creating an account. OK, that's probably a very temporary issue. The solution isn't to use someone else's account for so long you start buying games on it. Choosing to do so is not a problem Valve needs to solve.
Licenses aren't transferable. If they were it would create a secondary market, and neither Valve nor developers want that. And even if you limited the transfers to X scenario, people will just lie. Everyone will have accidentally bought games on the wrong account or whatever BS. So don't hold your breath.
That's intentional. Family sharing is there to give you some utility. But it's not there to allow multiple people to use a particular library at once. It's not there to enable users to not buy games. And your borrowed account issues are self-inflicted.
You'll just have to buy the games for your own account again, and treat the games you bought on some else's account as a gift.
Are...are you serious? Why not just make an account to buy the games on?
borrowing accounts is against the rule and is grounds for an account to be shut down.... IT's not steams fault you broke the rules and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to buy games on someone elses account knowing that it wasnt yours
That is just....not smart.
Steam accounts can not be "borrowed" as per the SSA. It can lead to the account being locked.
Purchases made on an account, belong to that account and can not be moved.
