Go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/preferences/ and uncheck the boxes for:
Frequent Nudity or Sexual Content
Adult Only Sexual Content
As was said above, these options are off by default so in order to view such content, the user would have had to of chosen to turned them on.
I mean why would you browse for games and turn on the ability to see sexual games? That is like googling stuff with your kids and turning off the filter then being shocked by what you see. In this case no one to blame but yourself as its off by default as already mentioned.
Go into your preferences next time and turn off porn before browsing, or better yet, make an account for your child, set up the content it can access and then browse on THAT account.
I also doubt this suggestion is made as an actual suggestion...
Seriously, why do people do this?
Do they get paid money?
I can't imagine anyone would do this level of nonsense for free.
Nice joke.
Since that's not even how the adult games on Steam even work.
And yet, that's still not how the content works.
You're being over the top silly.
Seriously, at least attempt to do some basic research.
That is true, yep. When you start an account everything in regards to that is "off" by default.
I was wondering how people are seeing all this stuff, and i never did. Notwithstanding though, that doesn;t mean junior in his infinite wisdom, can shut off the setting when dads at work.
You might want to familiarize yourself with the law. COPPA requires the age gate which steam has, if someone lies about their age that is enough to protect steam under the current laws.
Nope, but if he does that steam is not liable and the parents should be setting up proper filters and security on their computer. Steam is not a substitute parent and they already have the tools in place to prevent that, and the parents have the tools if they care to monitor what is being done on the computer.
Nope, parent's need to protect their kids by parenting. Steam currently complies with all regulations regarding adult games. Sadly some people shouldn't have children if they are refusing to actually be a parent and expect others to do their parenting for them...
Well now you're having a conversation on how people should parent their kids. I tend to stay away from all that, and the moralism of all of it.
Some parents have no issue, others do. That's up to them to vet their concerns on that. I do think it's all going to be sorted out before long politically, but that's another topic.
