Option to set "Update on Launch" for all games in Global Download settings
Hi :er_wave: , i have a lot of games installed, right clicking going to Properties, clicking on Update section and setting it to only update on launch for every game is very annoying and then when i get new game i have to do that to it as well.

I want to have option in Steam settings under Download to set all games to only update on Launch excluding Cloud saves. To help me save some data and bandwidth.

No, it's a Linux shell command; I have also my Windows Steam library accessible from Linux.

It does no other than in all "appmanifest_*.acf" files inside of the library (which are text files) change the "AutoUpdateBehavior" key from "0" to "1", i.e., from "Always update" to "Update only when launched".

You can do the same thing with e.g. a useful multi-file text editor's search/replace, or through Windows' "Powershell" such as per e.g. https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/3203748171388504393/#c3761103845932515985

And yes, don't get me wrong; I also want a nicer way to do it. Just since there isn't one currently...

There used to be such an option. Wish they wouldn't have removed it.

Not sure if they would be willing to bring it back either. They tend to remove features that their analytics show people are not using.

Ah. That would seemingly be to say then that chances aren't good indeed...
