Can we get proper Age verification please?
So Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was just added and its unavailable in my Region because Valve chooses not to let me do an age verification for my country so i can buy games i would otherwise legally allowed to purchase

Valve can you finally let me do something like PostIdent in germany so i can buy Adult games that you sell to everyone else?.

I'd still say complain to the government, and see if you can drag EU into it. It's just 1 country.

If EU considers digital age verification for all countries in it, it would make it more viable for companies to use it.

mine as well go both ways, complain here on steam and to the local governments, spreads the word and the issue.

hello

For that you need to be a chinese people who have to provide card id on the web side ...That's the only way to verify your age.

good post, brings to attention they already have a solution in place, they just havent got around to implementing it in other regions, it seems.
So they should make a Steam client specifically for Germany?

as for the people who jump into threads to argue them down, without any clue how things work,

Yep, like the people who jump into threads not knowing that Valve doesn't even develop the Steam china client, and didn't even click the link or they'd see that its done by Perfect World, not Valve.....

The 'system' that you are referencing is on a client that isn't maintained by Valve.

Weird how that works.

It's almost as if someone jumped into a thread to argue without any clue how things work....

You mean people shared a link without reading it as a 'gotcha'?

Wow, I am completely shocked about this.

Oh look, they're giving out points to show their thanks for pointing out their mistake. How nice

sice you guys are so happy to educate others, let me return the favor.
it is a law in china, that every company that wants to make buissines in china, need to create a company in china that acts on behalf of the mother company but needs to be a seperate company. thats the reason why there is n another developer in china, but they act on bahalf of valve

not to mention "outs" the obvious people, who create arguments where none exist.

let alone the replies they leave, showing they arent here for proper discussion.
It does out people who jump in without reading links to create arguments.

Glad we agree.

I would also argue that editing comments with jabs at others isn't 'proper discussion'.

It's goes past 'on behalf' of Valve. They are the primary developers and maintaners of the client. I cluding the features requires by law.

Valve didn't implement that ID system, Perfect World did.

All that needs to be known is That Valve doesn'ty see it as worth their time and money. Which implies that the revnue from such games in that region was never very high to begin with.

Or in Layman's terms. There weren't enough people buying to creat a difference in the revenue stream when they made the change.
if even amazon, which is one of the greediest companys there is, brought up a solution for prime tv, this has to be simple and cheap to integrade.
and valve is not able to do this? this is just embarrassing
Amazon is losing money on Prime TV.
Soooo....
Again. It doesn't imply cheap, or easy. Just means someone at Amazon was sure this would be a good ROI. SOmeone at Amazon also thought Rings of Power would be a great series...

Again. Sometimes the best solution is just not to bother.
AAnd clearly there weren;'t enough people in your region buying such games to be worth the bother. I mean it has literally been years now and the regional difference in revenue dclearly hasn't been enough to motivate Valve to do more than they have.

most of the streaming services losing money, what profes that?

steam can't really know how much people would use the age veryfication, because the region block was activated a few months after steam was opened for adult contend in gerneral. they can only make estimates. and if nobody is asking for it, they wont know, and that why its important to continue with this suggestions, so they see there are eneugh customers to evaluate a change

Please do not make things up. Steam has been allowing mainstream adult content on their store since 2018. YEARS before Germany updated their laws.

They had plenty of data to show sales numbers over the YEARS its been available.

Because that's what the Steam China client(that you linked) is. A Steam client that is for China only.

One that isn't developed or maintained by Valve by the way.

as well as the replies trying to lure me into arguments, or claims of editing your comments is somehow a bad thing :cqlol:

or someone handing out "jester points" is somehow "people who were wrong, making amends on being wrong".
Glad to see accountability being taken.
