Punishments for those who toe the line of the rules
As it stands now, you can only be punished for overtly breaking the rules, but as long as you cleverly don't break any rules, you're allowed to be as condescending, snide, and rude as you want to be. There are people who know where the line of the rules is and toes the line to bait out people to get banned. I propose that if someone gets punished because of someone doing this, the person doing this shares the same exact punishment. It would either clean up the forums or just get those ban numbers up, but it's better than doing nothing.

So you want people to be punished for...not breaking the rules.

II don't think you've thought this idea through m8.
Remember. Offense can only be taken.

The interesting thing is they know of an individual using dozens of accounts to constantly spread disinformation & troll the forums, even making the individual aware that they know of said activities, but didn't just delete all of the accounts & punish the primary account like most services tend to do.

Now, if they actually took action on known troublemakers or people that might not be suitable for the forums, things would be better.

I mean as far as I know, permabanning isn't even a thing anymore.
That is the exact issue. Especially when we had VMods, they would know if someone needed it because they had complete context & actually used all of the moderation tools.

Which is a shame. Because, now, it's a neverending cycle of trolling/bad faith.
Yeah, moderation ought to be a tad harsher with those repeat-offenders.
They're definitely not harsh enough. Especially as an example, people that get banned from a game hub or hubs, then complain in the steam hubs via spamming - getting banned for doing so, then intentionally trolling & derailing threads in the steam hubs because they got banned for spamming threads.

Sometimes people just need to be shown the door.

don't let them fool you, its the same tiny minority of users that have a problem with all users.

these people are in the "GROUP" as commented on earlier, they have a problem with everyone, mostly "non Customers" as you can see in several of the comments.

why you ask cause they are simply steams yes men. they aren't anyone you should bother listening to as they try to justify the comments they make as correct and all others labeled as wrong.

its simply a lack of power going on, they are powerless to silence opinion and instead try to infringe upon the users ability to comment and partake in a open forum for any intellectual converstaion.

there is only one cycle of trolling/ bad faith here and it starts with them attacking the comments only to then attack the users supporting the topics.

they are even going so far at to try and attack me openly as i made comments about steams employee's, which of course "none of them are"

Ironic though how offended it makes them, I just think its interesting as to why topics like this matter to them, when leaving them alone would be the smart choice that doesn't expose any of them as steam narrative instigators.
You are not a customer. You regularly attempt to bait users. You openly admit to using alts with the sole purpose of causing chaos.

Getting rid of you would be more beneficial to this community than getting rid of any random Steam/Valve fanboy you are blabbering about.

seems rude an hurtful , i can't understand how common logic of a situation would be a hinder to any community, except when that community wants to hide the fact of its wrong doings.

i personally have no issue with anyone, so why have a issue with me? I find it sorta funny that i am the villain so dangerous and destructive when i simply offer logical common sense clarity to individual users about the "Bad Faith" practices going on in steam.

Sorry if its pulled the curtain back from your all mighty and powerful Oz impersonations and we are all left with steam controlled accounts that never bought games that but where gifted 1000's of games by steam.

yeah you can try all you like to get rid of me, I am not going anywhere, this has already been made clear to all of you.

seems hurtful to ants

I am not interested in squashing anyone rather i am interested in games and community content that promotes healthy marketing strategies and a continued growth of the community and steams own successful presence in the industry.

any all ideas offered to steam is in the hopes of a happier user base and a more profitable and enjoyable steam.

Removing the Road Blocks set before People who want to openly use the forums to offer suggestions and to help increase steams user interactivity and presence is a positive outlook that more users need to partake in.

its just shoddy moderation and support acting out to encourage negative posting so they can viciously attack people for no reason,

For no reason?

Your history of spamming, bypassing bans, and abusing the Steam Rules & Guidelines is well documented. We won't be removing any bans associated with that behavior.

And:

i make it a personal goal to get banned almost every day, so i can just load up another free throw away steam account and upset the same 20 people so they have a mental meltdown and cry to steam support.

Yep.

OP, the forums are working precisely as intended. As I say many times, there is no rule against lying, but there is a rule against calling someone a liar. People WANT the forums to be full of backhand sniping and half insults. They think the guy who gets mad at being insulted is worse than the guy insulting. Some folks never escaped high school drama sadly.

>Nah, its your fault you got banned. No need to ban trolls.
>Valve should ban this guy for trolling even though he doesn't violate the rules with his posts.
As always the most important part of any discussion here is who/whom, but man even I am impressed when the contradictions are just 10 posts apart.

Stated intentions however are something most are aware of which includes in context self-admitted intent to troll by a particular series of accounts within an individuals control that are all non-customer accounts. So with all context being considered & support even warning such an individual, they should instead have taken appropriate action given they're fully aware of all account notations.

I don’t think it’s very productive to role play as a Valve employee
