It would be nice to add a feature that takes into account current hardware and minimum requirements like a box in the search function, hardware x,y,z in the search function will only show games that run on the hardware instead of showing up several games that are very above, or just above the "minimum requirement".

In all seriousness, the vast majority of video games will run on most computers. If you're not looking for some kind of raytraced GPU-grinder, odds are you can run any game you're interested in

why not just write down your current specs (or memorise them) and use it to compare against the minimum and recommended requirements of the games?

All the games can't check the "better graphics" when u open it? steam can do the same.

Furthermore, if you have the "minimum requirements" option on Steam, simply pair with the current detected hardware.

If Steam, perhaps, yes or no, adopts this function, they can also improve the targeting of games to the correct target audience, as you have 3 similar games [in their functionalities], 1 that does not run on your computer because you are below the minimum requirements, another that meets the minimum requirements and one that meets the "recommended", so the graphics are not too different from each other, which one would you choose?

If you have a tool that allows you to roam more easily based on your hardware wouldn't that be more convenient?

If you didn't just add a "minimum requirements" box but also "recommended" that could be better too.

The question is not whether they can do it or not, because we know they can, it is whether they will add it.

People new to computers in general don't understand the concept of "minimum vs recommended," so I can only see this idea as a plus for every one.

It is a database along with what serious developers/publishers input as "minimum" or "recommended" can extrapolate from. It's far more than enough to implement a checking system within the Steam client and update the ToS to acknowledge it.

It is NOT impossible to do.
