Also, plenty of Ubisoft games here as well.

Valve is not going to buy exclusives like epic does... unlike epic, Valve likes the idea of making money.
People already accuse Valve of being a monopoly, by buying exclusives, thats exactly what they would become because then those games could be no where else. Becoming a monopoly gets you investigated and punished by governments. Right now, while being very popular, it doesn't make Valve a monopoly as game developers/publishers can still sell their games anywhere they want.
And there are already blizzard and ubisoft games on Steam.
I don't think any of their own games work outside of Steam. Half Life, for instance.
Both Blizzard and UbiSoft sells game on Steam while Blizzard does not sell it's games on Epic. Also Steam have thousands, possibly tens of thousands of exclusive games as lot of devs don't bother selling their games anywhere else and Valve does not have to lift a finger to get those games.
There's no point for Valve to spend money luring devs and publishers to the platform as almost everyone comes to it freely. Last year over 14k games were released on Steam. Missing a few is not a big loss to Valve.
But no one should place any company on a pedestal. Valve is usually seen as the gamer's savior when in reality they like making money, too. Buy games where and when you want. Don't let EGS or Valve sway your purchasing.
