Meal Prep subforum on the Steam Hub.
Savy gamers have long realized that some of the benefits of meal prepping, besides eating healthier, include more time and money... Time and money you can then invest into games!!

More Meal prepping among gamers would directly and positively impact Valve's bottomline! And healthy gamers live longer, too! Which then means they can keep spending more money on Steam when they would otherwise be dead!

Valve should create a Meal Prep subforum where gamers could teach others and share their recipes! Perhaps we'd even see a lot of game-themed recipes!

Valve has a chance to do something really positive here! Not just for us, but also for them!

:Devilpopsicle: There’s plenty of room in Off Topic for threads about food.
I can already see all the How to heat up a hot pocket threads along with how to open a bag of chips etc... and most likely how to make a bowl of cereal.
Make a group or join one.

I've actually seen someone wish for a politics subforum because off-topic was getting too much spam of political threads
I think Valve should just stick to the relevant forums they have already, leave this kind of forum to a game forum focused around cooking or steam groups where the topics can really flourish.

Honestly the ban for politics should just be re-implemented again in my opinion. Politics bring nothing but arguments more often than not especially since its rare anyone can have a debate in good faith or even just a calm conversation when those topics are brought up.
The Off Topic and Steam Groups are what you are looking for OP.

He's exactly where he wants to be. I guess OP got bored of endorsing Kayne West.

This thread is about meal prepping, not Kanye.
Please stick to the topic, I shouldn't have to remind you every other thread.

Eating healthy is always relevant.
Dead gamers don't buy games.

Eating healthy is important aye, on that I don't disagree. But I just don't think Valve needs to or should make a forum for it. Users should make groups that are dedicated to it, groups that can host their own forums which can be specifically organized for such things. Maybe have a forum for each type of food. Maybe a forum for discussing food in general. Maybe another for talking about games that are about food.

A user controlled group will have far better value than a singular food forum Valve could plop down in the steam section on top of the fact it could be actively moderated by people (preferably) passionate about the subject/group rather than the paid mods that just do not do their job well.
Groups tend to have no visibility.

A subforum would be a lot better.

Tons of groups exist with membership in the thousands - some even the tens of thousands, so there is plenty of visibility and activity ... if you offer something that people are interested in.

So the proof is in the pudding, Sonny Jim. Let's see if you actually have the goods and make a Steam Group, otherwise it just looks like the typical useless troll fodder.

No need to be combative.

If you don't like the idea of a meal prep subforum, you don't have to use it.

Peace. :GoldPice:

It isn't combative saying it's a pointless idea.
Why not. With the average gamer being well in their 30s and often having a family, and young'uns being poisoned by energy drinks, doritos and high sugar "gamer food", there is dire need for someone reputable to step up and take helm of the gaming communities health.

A group is one thing, but open support to the idea is a whole different level. Two of the most common complains I always hear from my peers are "it's taking sooo long to cook" and "there are only so much recipies you can do anyway". There are already plenty of ressources to find varied and quick prep meals on the internet - but people are not searching them out. So a dedicated forum on one of the biggest gaming communities would be a big step.

Valve could even take it further and release a series of gamer kitchen appliances. The world is ready for blender with RGB lights and ergonomical high DPI knives. A Mann Co branded induction stove? Hell to the yes. Get out of the kitchen woman, that's my domain now!
And of course the logical step of having actual functional IOT fridges that tell you when your download is finished or how long your DOTA2 queue is.

And to the nay-sayers who argue that this is not what Valve/Steam is about: it'S about diversifying your brand and doing good. Taking risks with all the billions they got from us and re-invest into a healthier community.
Imagine Nintendo or Samsung never going into electronics. Or Kanye never designing the Yeezy Cybertruck. The world would have lost out.
And nobody can convince me that Mr Newell himself isn't into food and a healthy diet. Look at recent pictures of him. This guy is from the mid 1900s and doesn't look a day older than 61.
