This is not Twitter or Facebook where you can make echo chambers.
These are Discussion forums, that means you get multiple opinions, even ones you may not like.
The op said blocking does not HIDE everything...
ehem, yes, I support this suggestion. it should hide every thing from the blocked user
You will see (Blocked user - Show) whenever there is a post from someone you have blocked
Calm down, okay?
I agree with your suggestion. I think it would also be fairly easy to implement.
UGC isn't direct.
That's my guess at least.
Having it so blocking someone means you also dont see their reviews is in no way preventing them from making reviews.
its weird to me that anything someone suggests "make blocks hide better" or "make blocks keep them away from me" other people come in with "WHY YOU WANT TO PREVENT PEOPLE FROM USING STEAM! FREE SPEECH!@!!!!!#$WFSGDSH$$#@#AFFROTHYDROOLSPEWSFROMMOTH!"
No one is trying to prevent people from doing anything they would normally be able to do on steam..... they just want people that annoy them to stop appearing in their sight... in their threads.... to stop bothering THEM specifically.
As said elsewhere, in the internet we do not have spacial logistical complications from position or range of scope of exposure. You could potentially be seen by as many people if you post in someone elses thread as you would if you made your own thread..... one person, who blocked you, not seeing your review will have no impact on other people seeing your review. We can all go about our business, to and fro, without ever getting in anyone elses way.
unlike in person where if someone said they dont want to see you it could potentially mean you would not be able to go somewhere... enjoy something... or potentially be seen by other people besides that one person.
Stop using misnomer retorts.
To answer your question "Why you want to make blocks better"?
The answer is to prevent harassment, stalking, spam, trolling, scams, and etc. Everyone deserves peace of mind when using steam. This has been discussed in another thread. The reasons are the same.
