Ferengi are already a playable race for Star Trek Online.
They are limited to a Federation character.

Pretty good chance since they added them as a playable race years ago, and have several playable starships of theirs.

How many ferrengi ships do you remember from the shows, exactly? Other than things like shuttles, they pretty much all looked the same.

Except the Ferengi were never their own faction in-game (nor intended to be), just a playable species in the other factions. The Ferengi ships we got are just a throwin really. Similar to the Andorians or Vulcans... who have about the same number of ships.

The Romulans and Jem'Hadar *are* their own factions, and actually do have more than "three or so ships"... in fact, the Jem'Hadar *launched* with at least nine playable ships.

Stick a dilithium-bought Ferengi vanity shield or the Workbees shield from the Summer event and make any ship a Ferengi ship.

The Ferengi have been added for Years. Most or even all of their Canonical ships(3-4?) have too, and then some(at least one VERY Ferengi like STO created - Quark something and then there is always the large Suliban ship that can be reworked as Ferengi too) and their shuttle exists in-game and playable. Their ground weapons are available, Space weapons are available, Multiple suits are available(for all characters), some well known characters are available as Holo-Boffs. Ferengi badge/Symbol/Communicator exists in game for years. There is even a Ferengi Bridge. There are even Ferengi tatoo's available. If you have sound on, you're forced to listen to them every winter event in STO.

Compare that to very popular races like the Cardassians who at least till this post have no ground weapons though they exist(!) in game(!!) as models and are available to NPC's(!!!). And so far had in-game only the Galor and Keldon ships and 3 so-so STO created(No Hideki for instance though I believe it exists for NPC's as well!!! and no Cardassian shuttle. I also realised yesterday that a freighter in-game is a Groumall clone but that wasn't obvious from the get-go cause I've heard about the episode but is of the few I never really watched in some capacity. However that ship exists only as a T-2 version and is not very usable in game and cannot be upgraded either). There is a Cardassian suit available but only for Cardassian Species(all other uniforms can be worn by any species in the allegiance. another exception is the Romulans, but at least Romulans come in all qualities even purple and there's the embassy to get more. Cardassians come only in Common quality and have to be token upgraded if desirable). Or the Vulcans who all those years had merely one ship and a shuttle, no ground weapons, no space weapons, no generic uniforms except T'pol's - we're talking about a race that has been in all ST movies and series to some capacity, second only to humans in frequency!!! And had to be a combo of fans chronic outrage with that fact and the LD episode to add a new ship.

This thread wins the most uninformed(if not trolling) original posters post about a game in 2024. By Far.

At least there's 4 Cardassian ships in the C-store including the iconic Galor class. You want a Ferengi ship now then it's a per character buy.

Because people want to have a whole stable of ferengi characters? For those who need an account unlock ferengi ship, the Quark Class Marauder was in one of the mudd bundles... the wormhole one... and ships from those bundles are account-wide unlocks.
