The guide button and why I kill steam when I play any other game

I use a DS4 controller to play many games, steam or no. Unfortunately, there is an intensely annoying issue I have: _the guide button switches focus to steam_. If I hold it down, _it opens up big picture mode_. There have been numerous posts on this, none of which have solved the issue. When I'm in another game and I want to use the guide button, _it will TAB ME OUT_ and switch focus to Steam - I'm sure you can see why this is unacceptable. Additionally, the DS4 controller is powered down by holding down the guide button for 10-15s, which opens up Steam in Big Picture mode - if I'm powering down my controller, chances are I'm not looking to play any games for the time being.
My only solution so far has been to kill steam every time I play any other game.

e are a few simple things Steam can do to alleviate this:
1) Add an option to disable big picture mode
Now, this probably won't happen, what with the push towards it and all, but may user have requested it so I may as well hop on the bandwagon. This probably won't fix the Focus problem

2 - and this is all i really want- ) _add an option in the settings to disable the guide button switching focus to steam/ big picture mode_
Even if you only add an option to opt out of the focus, and keep the big picture part, that would be fine. I can turn off my controller through DS4Windows anyway, it's just a little annoying. The focus switching is, however, a dealbreaker for me. It just leads me to kill Steam every time I play a non Steam game, and opening it up takes quite a while, so I use Steam less and less. Thanks for bearing with me through this rant, and especially thanks for any changes that might happen as a result of this.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I'd already seen this, and am skeptical of exe's - and particularly dll's - from people I don't trust on the internet. The software I use, DS4Windows, allows me to set the home button to what I need *most of the time*, so I'm just using that and for the stuff that it doesn't work on I just continue to kill Steam. Thanks again for the reply!
