The game is literally unplayable, I got 2 headshots in wingman and dudes instantly toggled cheats, started flaming my mom and me for being legit. Cmon what is this community?? Why does everyone have the urge to cheat, are y'all that damn pathetic lol. Every game I play there's at least 1 cheater and no, don't tell me "buy prime", because that isn't the point. If the game is FREE to play, does that mean it's just fine to cheat?

If you don't want to encounter cheaters, don't play multiplayer.

Sms phone verification from a personal simcard to be able to play..

Not even google phone numbers are allowed !

We need this in CS:GO and other games on Steam !

And we need Hwid bans that is grouped together as whole, to identify the user behind the account !

So if someone is cheating, this person that cheats will need a whole new pc, a new phone and a new phone number .. And if Valve make a phonelist of cheaters to give the phone company´s .. then we can exclude players in person to never be able to play online again ...

So this will be the new way of fighting cheaters in the future !

HWID can be spoofed.

And even if it wasn't possible, it would be a bad idea as PCs get resold and then you have legit users buying used computers who are suddenly unable to play or get a VAC ban through no fault of their own.

Valve already restricts phone numbers.

Phone companies won't do that as they don't care.

Only way to eliminate 99% of cheating in competitive games would be for all such games to become cloud based, so none of it is being ran on client side. This isn't going to happen any time soon either, due to the requirements of such a system and lack of infrastructure in many countries to support it.

Burner phones and cheap sim cards will keep cheaters going.

TF2 also has an attached phone number, it doesn't stop cheating.

You really need to learn that there is no fullproof method to stop cheating that will keep the game alive.

You underestimate how frequent burner phones are in certain regions. Getting a new phone number is as frequent as getting a new one whenever the actual prepaid card runs out of funds.

Steam already ties accounts to phone number and requires it for -for example- CSGO Prime.

HWID bans have been tried previously by other anticheat and they can be bypassed with relative ease (No, they won't have to buy a new computer)

There's no silver bullet to curb cheating. Otherwise it'd be already in use.

I'd exersice caution before assessing how well a 4 day old game-mode is curbing cheating.

It's the only viable solution if you don't want to encounter cheaters. Every multiplayer game has cheaters, there is no full proof anti-cheat.

You say there are fixes, does that include the IP-ban that you mentioned in the thread title? Which is very easy to circumvent, since for many people that simply means rebooting their router.

Well, in my case i can have a new IP in less than 30 seconds. Just need to visit the web-UI of my router and hit the reconnect button. Now i could cheat again.

Another case, a dorm where dozens of people live in. They all share an internet connection and henceforth an IP.
Should they all get banned because one of them cheated?
