Shopping Cart Improvement - Please do this
Hi, Massively helpful suggestion:

Make a checklist (square box on the left of game/app titles) within the shopping cart to make it so that we can purchase one game at a time if we want to??? (Or say: 5 out of 7 items that are in the cart and then the remaining Two would stay in the cart)

This way we won't have to remove items from our shopping cart just to place them back in later whenever we have more personal funding for games/apps etc.

This would be TREMENDOUSLY time saving and Super convenient.

Hope to see it!

Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving to all :chug:

just a small checklist tab or a "buy now" option on individual titles within the shopping cart would be Fantastic

If you absolutely MUST use the client to do your shopping, open new windows by pressing the middle mouse button (the wheel) for every game you want to look at. Or, you could run the Augmented Steam browser extension, which lets you stay on the page when you add a game ot the cart. Your call.

would rather not do either of those things if possible

even when using middle mouse it still doesn't work around this

The client is the worst choice for doing anything but launching games. And it's not like you are away from a computer when using Steam.

Why not? Press middle, add game in window to cart, refresh main window. Even though I have no idea why you would want to stay on the game page in that case.

I don't see your point, I've Always used the client to purchase games/apps (pretty sure most people do also) and other than what I type about it has always been a good way to do it.

It would be Very easy to update/upgrade the shopping chart - Again, even when using middle mouse to open a new window and then add any title to shopping cart - ALL titles that I have added into my cart are there and I MUST purchase them all together or remove the ones that I can't currently afford - Just to have to find them again and purchase them later, it's really inconvenient & been like this for Years - Just a suggestion - I think MANY people would end up being pleased with this option

One step further, especially if you work for Valve/steam.

Many other platforms have this option (Amazon being just one quick example).

I believe that if Valve/Steam implements this approach and option for it's customers that the analytical data will show an overall improvement in sales/purchases (even within just the next Three Months and even more so over a full calendar year).

I also believe this approach would be more successful Especially during a week long sale.

Customers LOVE Options

Update/Edit: The Steam phone App and desktop app are linked to individuals wishlists also and to suggest opening a Windows tab for this is a horribly lazy suggestion - I'm sure that you can look for yourself as to how many users are on the phone app and/or desktop app (if not, then that is another suggestion for your analytical team)

Call it your idea and maybe get a promotion when sales go up 😊

Cheers 🍻

Add the games to your wishlist.

From the wishlist add one game to the cart. Purchase.

Rinse and repeat.

Nope because no online digital cart works the way you have suggested.

Try adding multiple items to a cart on Amazon. It will charge for all items.

Not true - they have Options for buyers

They have two actually, the "buy now" button (which is for individual items) and they also now have a checklist like the one I have described.

I have over 300 items on my wishlist, I'm sure others may have even more.

Again, it's a suggestion

While creating packages of games to buy for the holidays, this would help so much, especially because also I sometimes buy games on my account for others in my family.

It would save so much time

You are describing a wishlist. ;)

And in all my time in e-commerce I have never seen nor heard of a cart behaving that way.
Amazon isn't doing it either for me.

Not on Amazon nor any site i use for "multiple" items.

You either add a "single" item to the cart, purchase it then rinse and repeat or you add "multiple" items to a cart and purchase "them" as a single transaction.

I see the option that I have described on my Amazon app (as well as the buy now option per individual item)

- maybe check again?

Either way, it would be a Great chance for your platform to stand out and have something different and give customers more options.

Y'all eat some turkey, meet with your higher ups, and think about it. 😊

Have a Great Thanksgiving 🍽️
