Sure there are actual critiques, but there are also a lot of reviews there with obvious bones to pick with Bethsoft and their choices. There's also the two most recent which simply downvote because the game won a meaningless award.
But again, the FACT is that the game still has 64% overall positive reviews, meaning the MAJORITY of the people are satisfied with the purchase and recommend the game.
Valve curating sales deal: People made a stink (We want to choose!)
Valve adds community vote deals: People made a stink (Votes are rigged!)
And my assertion is that the majority of people think you're a pink unicorn from outer space.
You can't assert what the opinion of people who haven't voiced it is.
The only fact here is the majority of people who actually voiced their opinion and voted, did so for RDR2.
Spoiler: There's more people who don't own skyrim than people who do.
RDR2 though is mind boggling to me. Given it was up against some other very successful games and hasn't had a meaningful update in years. At the end of the day though it only takes a plurality to win.
For GOTY though, I don't think there was ever a question Baldur's Gate 3 was going to be nominated and win. That game is not only massively popular, but was also received very well. 96% positive reviews out of 467,029 for a game that released in August, a all time peak of 875,000 players, and a peak today of 237,000....that is a juggernaut.
I am going to call you a troll, because you created this argument by misquoting me and ignoring it when I called you out.- IE You are disingenuous and not arguing in good faith.
When you point out the overall reviews of Starfield and completely discredit the recent reviews, general public reception, content of reviews, etc - You are again, being disingenuous and not arguing in good faith.
Which, by the way, you are arguing one small point of a larger argument, because you know you would lose the larger conversation. Which is that the Steam Awards WERE weird, generated a public response, are misleading to customers, and is potentially embarrassing to Valve.
Then you googled "fallacies" and failed to accuse me of using them, when it's all you've been doing.
Not even mentioning NONE of this is the topic of thread, which you are capable of making yourself if you wanted to discuss these topics. You instead derailed mine.
You are a troll.
And there's not much to discredit when the latest reviews are nothing more than a response to a nonsense award mini game.
Let me know when you have some actual factual points to make.
Here's LTT's or SomeOrdinaryGamer's vids on the topic you can't get over.

Go have a blast yelling into the void in the comment sections there. They've even got Starfield in the thumbnail for you.
And it's probably my fault for mentioning Starfield. I should've known it would just attract trolls like flies to rotting meat.
I haven't seen much about the botting, but if that's a contributing issue then Valve should definitely handle that.
It could be ... I mean just maybe ... perhaps there are a few people ... well maybe more than a few ... a good handful ... perhaps many ... maybe most people nowadays perhaps ....
who actually see gaming for what it really, actually is.
And what could that possibly be? you ask!
Now this is where is really gets wild, man .....
Maybe they see gaming as the luxury hobby and pastime that it actually is. Just another form of entertainment that kills a few hours out of the day, and is a way to relax and escape the real world for a bit of time and not something that needs to be .... or really even ever should .... be taken seriously at all.
Mindblowing!!!
Wha...Wha...Whaaaaat!
