The obvious problem is that most visitors will not interact with it, and it is possible that some people find it by other means, but the numbers are there if you need them.
Still, as it is, the feature is unnecessary. If you actually create stuff on Steam, the number of followers would probably be more interesting for you.
The social part that is available is just an extra, not the main attraction.
Websites stopped having visit counters because of how unreliable they are.
No. It would cause people to be sad and mad for the dislikes. People already abuse Post history and abuse other users. We shouldn't have more abuse features till the abuse is under control.
No thanks, we already have enough spam with the stupid awards. We don't need more "please visit my profile, I need more views!!!"
Same with likes and dislikes, we don't need more spam for that. There is also the troll problem. If someone is part of a group on steam or on something like reddit and they don't like you, you're going to get a lot of dislikes. "Hey guys, these people are jerks, go dislike their profile for me." and you will get a lot of people disliking your profile and you will quickly learn why this is a bad idea.
I can tell you for sure, I would dislike any ones profile that supported this junk and I know a lot of others that would do the same just on the principle of it.
If Valve were to ever put something this bad into Steam, it needs to come with an off switch so we don't see it and it needs to be off by default.
And if its off, then not only can you not see it for yourself, but you can also not see it on other peoples profiles and you can't even like/dislike other peoples profiles. And if you turn it off, then all those likes and dislikes should be removed from all those profiles.
And if I have it off, that means no one can leave a like or dislike on my profile even if they have it on.
Why do you look at Steam and think "yes this needs more ♥♥♥♥ measuring contests"
Thanks but no thanks.
