At least with each new studio they will start at 1 star.
We need to fight back at these scams with al lmeans we can, and Steam can accomodate this with a developer rating.
sorry but no,lets just say that the steam community isnt mature enough to be trusted with such the same way as the community couldnt be trusted not to misuse GL, steam reviews, steam tags for stupid 5 minutes jokes
once again: this could be grossly misused and likely would be misused, knowing how things work around
just to give you a quick idea as to what happened many times when introducing new features to the community without any sort of policing:

except such system cannot be setup without making it impossible for malicious users to abuse it
also i see no reason why customers should be given almost the power to remove games like that. It doesnt help devs nor customers in any shape or form other than causing even more problems
you want to rate a game: you can already do that by writing a review, submitting a score on metacritic and such.
no need to reinvent the wheel.
Nothing about reinventing the wheel on this, as this part is not yet properly done.
You look at the possibility of misuse and refuse to look at the intend to root out bad studios.
You are part of the people who accept being victim to these studios from time to time.
I say it is a obligation to put in controls to root these studios out and ban them from steam
Steam can check themselves if ratings below - are not influenced by trolls or malicious users before banning a studio/developer.
There is more to be gained, and the controls can be made proof for abuse
"Steam needs to protect its users from studios that use greenlite to scam money"
usually users making their proper research also helps
There is more to be gained, and the controls can be made proof for abuse [/quote]
if there is something that I learned during those years: you dont trust the community for deciding for themselves, like ever.
it never ended up well as I stated it more than once and it wouldnt end up well with that either
"Steam can check themselves if ratings below - are not influenced by trolls or malicious users before banning a studio/developer."
and HOW exactly can they check it? by learning how to read their minds?
"I say it is a obligation to put in controls to root these studios out and ban them from steam'
I say maybe people should vote with their wallet then, easiest way to make sure those scumbag companies disappear
remember: if there isnt a demand for it, they wont bother.
they may as well ban Ubisoft for releasing Watchdogs with a misleading E3 demo or WB for basically abandoning Mortal Kombat X...
what im trying to hint at is that your idea is simply not realistic, at all. Maybe in a utopistic world where people dont act like braindead monkeys over the internet but sadly thats not how RL works.
they do not have to read your mind, but can use the rating as a red flag in the community.
there are so many controls and ways to ge tthis in place, it just takes some time and comon sense of getting this in place.
Not all players research the history of a game or studio, it is also not fair to expect that of a customer.
The current review system has proven to fail, as trolls and payed accounts are stating reviews totally unrealistic.
so we need to move beyond that and make a reputation system or whatever you want to call it, for the long run. viting with their waller, is to late, allready money spend on scams.
this is just the thing that needs to be avoided!
then people would be whining that Valve doesnt listen to their ratings, and with as much hassle they as well not spend time and money on a system when users can already flag dubious games as is
because there is no opportunities to it, simply put
please tell me how the current flagging system isnt enough, Im curious
