Remove games with status 'Coming Soon' after 1 year from Steam
I think it is not fair to gamers to have a game longer than 1 year on Steam, and still be claming it will be 'Coming Soon'. That is just misleading advertisement. Here are three examples of games like this:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1066370/The_Grand_Heist/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1594040/Wreckreation/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1063030/Monaco_2/

If you have a similar experience with games that have the status 'Coming Soon' for longer than 1 year on Steam, please post this here. As I am curious if it is just me discovering three games like this that just happen to have peeked my interest.

Why a year? Why not a month? Why not 100 days?

End of the day it doesn't matter. Valve doesn't manage developers projects. And whether the game is delayed, there's no defined release date, or there's some other issue, there's not really a time limit where you can use Valve to meddle with someone's product because you have opinions about how it and store pages should be managed.

I very much like when games Im interested have a coming soon page. I have two Ive been keeping tabs of for years at this point.

This suggestion makes zero sense to me. How is it false advertising? It isnt.

You assume "soon" is an arbitrary window of time, and decide anything longer is "wrong".

You do have a point there, I think for me the term 'Coming Soon' is just way too vague. I am a patient person, but for me it seems my patience runs out after 1 year of waiting ;-) .I think for me the main issue with the games I have mentioned here, is that I do not see any activity of the developers on the Steam Discussion forum of those games. Hence, I am just seriously in doubt if those games are being developed at all, or that companies just use it as a cheap market research tool to see how much interest there is in there game, by seeying how many people wishlist it. And then do not engage at all with the Steam Community at all.

Then again, personally, if it is there for 1 year I am starting to loose interest. And I do have the option to remove it from my Wishlist, so that might just be enough for me then. Will just ignore any 'Coming Soon' games, as I said before, for me the term is too vague. I think that is the issue for me. And won't be resolved by the announced changes by Steam on release date displayed for players.

As long as they’re not taking money, who cares? If you’re interested in the game then you just add it to your Wishlist and wait. This sounds like the same kind of literalist ESL stupidity that got the release date rules changed a while back (I’m still angry that the release date for “Little Kitty, Big City” was forced to change from “Cats don’t have deadlines”, in case you can’t tell :P).

I want to keep such games on my wishlist, thank you.

Old post but I now have about 16 games as coming soon and one of them has been on there longer than a year. Im losing faith/interest as other games release before it take up my time and money. HQ WW2 being one of those, amazing game. Coming soon should be a month long or so. Times with no defined date should be NDD or no available yet.

Replace it with "When It's Done".
...why do i hear Duke Nukem's theme?

I totally understand this but at the same time I'm not sure Valve can properly give an answer. Its a problem there isn't really a one size fits all fix for and none I think are appropriate at the steam level. You just need to stop following game previews or other nonsense for games more than two weeks out from release. Stop letting advertisers get their hooks in you and only add sure thing games to your wishlist unreleased. Don't let corporations advertise to you for free. Valve will not stop them as Valve does not have your back.

It is worth reading up on the Blue notes sometimes btw, they do update them from time to time if issues do come up. For example I was waiting for a certain game myself (I will outright say it was an adult one but by a studio who does at least decent story) but they did update the blue note when progress seemingly stopped. The note did reflect the issue of the company itself being impacted by money issues but no one was fired, however they had to refocus their work onto other projects that were much closer to being finished then the other lesser finished ones.

In that case it makes sense, you can't always divide up your attention and at least some of those notes are updated to reflect the on going issues, I am happy to accept that they can't update and finish the game as promised if they at least inform me in any possible way, especially if its just an update on the blue note
