Delay the ARS and TRY deadline to November 29
Today is a very bad day for Argentinian and Turkish Steam users because they noticed that they won't buy with their money currency anymore after November 20. Argentinian users can use Paypal etc. but Turkish users in must worse luck. There is no service that can let Turkish users buy with USD.

Is it possible to delay the deadline to November 29 so we can make our LAST purchases more memorable with Autumn Sale. I don't know what Valve was thinking but i hope they reconsider this in future.

You won't have to buy with USD, the price is LISTED in USD, you can still buy in your currency, its just converted based on the current exchange rate.
Will i continue to see the games with TRY price (USD price converted to TRY) while browsing? If yes, i won't have to say goodbye to Steam.

Not sure, from what i gather you will see it in USD, not sure if it will show try equivalent. So if something was 563.09 TRY it will get converted to around $20 usd. So its still the same price. Its just listing it in USD so if TRY drops 20% in value tomorrow the price of the game is still accurate.

steam does not find solutions to problems, it runs away from what it considers to be problems. steam is a platform that has never been able to manage situations well.
I have spent 100 times more money on this platform than you have spent. and I spent this money using Turkish lira. Instead of thinking about the value of the currency against the dollar, they need to think about many different problems. It's a big lie that they pretend to be hurting. they have servers that barely process the swap offer, which contains 200 items.
They cannot magically fix currencies having little to no value.

0.04c to 1usd, 0.002c to 1 use for the other. Let's not forget Venezuela which is 3.4mil-3.5mil per 1 usd.

At some point its not even worth doing business in certain areas. Else, they have to pay in a valuable currency to prevent any from region hopping for non region users.

Valve can't magically fix other countries problems, and if the currency is significantly worth less than the transaction fees, its inevitable.

They haven't even translated into Turkish, they get paid according to how they provide services :steambored:

I agree with OP. Steam must do more to support marginalized communities like the Turkish and Argentine peoples

Steam is not a government, they can't send in commandos to overthrow the leaders of that country, and interfering in how a foreign country operates is against US law...

This will be our last chance to buy something from Steam. After they drop the TRY and go to USD, there will be no way that we can buy and refund again. And God knows when TRY will be added soon. I am gonna miss this game store. I had too many good memories in here.

Seems like your imagination has run amok. Well nothing but hindsight will resolve that for you, so lets check in after the Winter sale. Maybe it might not be the end of the world like you thought.

You don't like their solution and are critical of it. Understandable. No one would elect to be in your position. In the same token it's not Valve's job to solve or bear the brunt of your failing currency.

The announcement doesn't just affect Türkiye, did they offer the announcement in every language? It doesn't seem like you have a problem understanding it though, so it seems like you're just complaining to complain.

No one is forcing you to use Steam. If you want native Turkish support, you should stick with Turkish based businesses. If there are none that offer the same service as Steam, you might have to tolerate some compromises for dealing with an international-non-turkish focused business.

If they solve these things and many other problems, they can ask for 30 dollars for the game, otherwise I will give 30 TL:D

It's adorable you think you can dictate terms.

I am also saying that the quality of service received by someone living in America is not the same as the quality of service received by someone living in Turkey. If they bring the service quality to the same level as the USA, I fully support them to keep the prices at the same level as the USA. but it's nonsense not to provide the same quality service and ask for prices close to each other.

for example, Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently being sold for $ 16.34 in Turkey, and it is being sold for $ 23.99 in America. The difference is $ 7.65. It has Chinese support and the Chinese buy it 7 percent cheaper than the Turks.
there is no Turkish language support :D

Price volatility Is the operation to Türkiye, not our fault. Every country buying with their own local money. Respecting really easy. I think must be more alternatives to Steam, toxic events danger for millions of kids too. In Türkiye people paying 20 tl to buy single dollar maybe we need to make agreements change our money base and standart to Assian countries...

who the ♥♥♥♥ are you?

Valve isn't responsible for Red Dead Redemption 2's price or language support. Take it up with Rockstar.

No one is making you use Steam. No one is making you buy products that don't support your language.

OP, have you considered that it's actually very much intentional that the change happens one day before the Autumn sale?

If I don't understand what you're saying it's because your complaints are a confusing mess of issues that you don't really understand who is responsible for what.

Your complaints about Red Dead Redemption 2 are Rockstar's issue. Your complaints about all the other games are issues for their respective developers, it's not something Valve manages.

If your issues aren't with Steam or Valve stop framing them that way. If your issue is with the entire gaming industry not doing enough to make Turkey a focal point, well good luck. I'm sure when it's worthwhile they'll do it.

One of the largest player communities on Steam is Türkiye and Turkish players are the most important community. If you have any respect for Turkish players, make the dollar exchange rate change after January 2024.
