Please add option to remove Not Tradeable/Not Marketable items from Inventory
I was looking at the reviews for Redfall a few days ago when suddenly I received a notification that new items had been added to my inventory. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of junk from a game I don't care about or plan on getting. Besides the fact of whatever the heck happened there being a stupid way to distribute promotional items, and I didn't even have the opportunity to opt out because they were essentially just shoved into my pockets, I have no means of ridding myself of these things. I contacted Steam Support, and they don't remove items even when they are simultaneously Not Tradeable and Not Marketable. Seems like it would be an easy solution, right? You ask for these specific items to be removed by name and they yank them out of your inventory. I don't see why not. Now, the next best thing would probably be to add the option to throw away or remove something while you're in the inventory. The problem of stolen accounts deleting things came up when I discussed this with some others. Maybe make it possible to restore deleted items then. Through Steam Support or something. Although that just goes back to dealing with them again. I don't know. All I know is I don't want this junk in my inventory, I literally have no options for getting rid of it, and this is very aggravating.

I think a "hide" option would work well enough for getting rid of clutter.
Give me a storage box or safe to dump them into, just like I do with more valuable items in CS:GO.

This is actually quite important, since steam has imposed the inventory restrictions. The more garbage you have, the sooner you're going to run into a timeout.

An advanced hide (like you can do for games, which they called permanent delete) or some box you can put them all in and forget about them would be the better choice because if a hijacker gets in its less damage they can do.

Because just think of all the complaining that would happen on the forums from people who had stuff deleted that they can never get back and Valve won't restore it just like they don't restore stolen items because someone let a hijacker in. We still get complaints about that today on the forums.

The zero restore policy was introduced because people abused it for selling marketable items multiple times, which had an impact on the market prices. Items that are untradable and unmarketable, like a sticker, don't impact the market at all and could be restored without consequences by valve.

It was also clogging up the support tickets... which is what this would do with people "accidentally" deleting something and then wanting it back.

Or getting their account hijacked and then filling up their support tickets and posts on forums whining about why Valve returned one thing but not another.

Again just make it an advanced hide. It does what you want, you will never see it again if you don't want to but if you want to you can...

Seriously why is that a worse idea then actual deletion?

This is a very valid reason, though the rate limits are the bigger underlying issue. Why enforce rate limits for inventories which have more items than there are requests to send? Why not deliver all data in one payload?

Non-tradable/marketable items could work like library games and have a 'hidden trashcan' to send them in to never be seen again (while being able to recover them anytime)

CSGO has a safe box? It's been a while since last time I launched it.

Pretty good to get around the inventory cap and to hide special things.

Some kind of a lock box for "everything else" would be nice. You hide it from yourself and don't lose it in case you get a feeling of regret.

The inventory overall desperately requires some changes.

Some people hoard an immense amount of items, which as mentioned previously, due to the flawed system, generate many requests and slow down the page to a crawl.

For many years, automated trading has been very prominent. While in a grey area in terms of ToS, it is undeniably an important part of the economy, and considering that it currently suffers due to last year's rate limits (as well as anything at all that tries to access inventory systems, including statistics sites and actual traders), something needs to be done about it.

And now to the item removals. Sales have been pumping out many free untradable items, and anything acquired via Points Shop contributes to the grand total. It feels wrong not being able to remove clutter if it prominently appears in emoticon/sticker selection. If making big changes to properly remedy the other issues would take too long, item removals could reduce traffic to some extent.

Now... the change just from introducing some way of hiding/deleting untradable items wouldn't be so significant, but the lack thereof points to the greater underlying issue; an outdated system.
