Keep an older version of Steam running on Windows 7.
I suggest Steam to keep one version of Steam for Windows 7 too.

I'm not changing to cancer like Windows 10. Its a privacy disaster. I don't want to accept the Windows 10 agreement.

Switch now or switch later.

You WILL stop using win7 at some point.

There are workarounds to stop Steam from autoupdating and keeping it in offline mode. That will work for a while. Other than that your choices are to upgrade to Win 10/11, switch to Linux or accept you won't be able to play the non DRM free games on Steam until you do any of the previous options.

You don't have to worry about Valve bricking the client. That's not how thise works. What will happen is that your client will simply lose the ability to do pretty much anything as the backend gets updated to use the newer protocols, certificates, and apis. Ask anyone who was using XP at the time they droped suipport for it,

You have no idea what cancer is, I hope you never will.

Support for Win7 has been discontinued by Microsoft, so why would any other organization keep supporting it? I've said this elsewhere but I do feel ya, as someone who held on to Win7 until basically the last week or so. I can't suggest anything about your concerns regarding the EULA but at the very least there are quite a few poweruser tricks and mods to make your 10 look pleasantly 7-like.

It is stupid. Due keep using some thing made by others.
Several games work better on Windows 7. Mostly older games.
Windows 10 has a lot garbage and I see many problems with it.

They should just have a basic version of steam for older oses. Including xp. If there's games that run on those that they sell it should be supported. At least enough to allow you to play your games.

With how the new beta today looks, I highly doubt older OS support will ever happen.

You know. The same thing was said when the XP dropping happened.
I wonder if you will actually be able to name any such games
