Ask the game developer. They are in charge of their achievements for their game.
Even then, based on how achievements unlock, I don't think the developers can change the status on anyone's profile.
Hard pass on the game
Since in all reality it's the perfect way to out them.
If the achievement is done server side. I'f it's not.. then it could be a way to reward those out of the box thinkers who find a way to do it without SAM.
This is not the only game that subverts the player to edit files to progress or do things, plenty of games do this, especially Undertale, Doki Doki and Smile.exe
I'd bet on it being a troll. Of course it's easy to get by manipulating calendar on your PC but what's the point if it has nothing to do with actually doing something in-game?
And then of course people will think it's been done with SAM and there's no way of telling which method's been used. Unnecessary drama bait for those who care.
I do not have the game. And not even because of the achievement, I don't enjoy the type of humor and narration style. Achievement trolling is just a bonus reason.
Honestly even going with it legit, waiting 10 years to get it, not that over the top, I mean 10 years of don't play the game that is better than some games that want you to spend days and years for a single achievement or at least to compete it, that is being to a level of abuse relationship
I got the 5 years in the first one legit and will do the same with the 10 years now, it's really really not that bad, if I die before, well too bad I guess, even that honestly I will not care much at that point
Honestly the achievement is just part of the game narrative, just as it should be
Because sometimes the smart ones go around the maze, not through it. and gaming has always been about finding the optimal strategy.
It's only drama if you engage with that sort.
I see achievements as challenges. So do most gamers and most developers have learned to give the player some freedom in how they approach a challenge. I mean lets be real. There's a reason point and click adventure games fell out of favour. It's because many of them basically inviolved finding ze one, UND ONLY VON way the developers decided it should be solved and generally they set it up in a way that you literally needed moonlogic or a guide to figure out.
Yeah, but I don't think they can remove achievements, that's something Valve has to do
The game developer can, Valve can not (for non-Valve titles).
