Ever considered people can fake having empathy? Or can choose not to have it?
I mean the real suggestion here is "get rid of the cabal Psymon thinks exists" but the way you hide it is incredibly flawed.
This would face the same issue pinned threads have. You can have them, you can force people to visit them, but you cannot force people to learn from them.
At a certain point we entertained the idea of having a mandatory thread every new user had to go through (as other forums have had for years)... but at the end of the day it always boils to the same problem. You can bring a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink.
(Wish I kept the link to an old video about behaving in forums that was brought a lot back in SPUF, it was what originated the idea)
Not to mention this would violate multiple laws including the Americans with Disabilities act.
Empathy is nothing you can demand, it's a human trait.
For a healthy discussion it's quite important to understand where the other side is coming from. Else you are going to have a shout match.
Or as my favourite BS quote goes "don't confuse improvement with need, want or desire". Which shows not only a lack of understanding of the term "improvement" but also a lack of understanding why some people make certain suggestions.
You don't need to have empathy to post that installing an exterior screen door on a submarine is a bad idea. In fact its often found that there is more value from a blunt listing of an idea's flaws, then trying to sugar coat it and beat around the bush.
Of course its a moot point since the OP's idea wouldn't even be legal to implement.
so why did Dalton get banned for saying that you literally had the same suggestion with your "quiz"?
whats going on? also funny how the bans for us are literally within minute of posting..
I mean your suggestion with a quiz would also just end up with it being useless due to the answers being posted online.
Same with the emptahy test.
Of course ignoring the legal site of things.

If you engage them you are stepping down to their level and usually end up as guity as they are.
it was a good idea and wouldn't break any laws unlike this suggestion, but people sadly ruin many good ideas by not being trustworthy
Blocked people cannot post on your profile, if they post on your friend's profiles then ask them to block and/or report.
Honestly, if the forums continuously makes a person feel unhappy with the place, maybe it’s time to take a voluntary break from it; there are other places to post. At some point the pain is self inflicted.
