wym valve's stance? i havent heard anything about steam disliking achievements or something along those lines if thats what youre implying
Their stance is they don't care about people using it and it's too much trouble to deal with it's existence so they don't.
They do care somewhat but the measures to verify achievements are way to costly and are available to devs without Valve stepping in.
It also would require games to be constantly online which Steam is not a fan of forcing.
thats crazy that they dont care about something like that that artificially changes people's on profile stats, i understand if it might not be top priority but not caring at all is surprising

I posted it in the "Possible method of validating achievements" thread 2 days ago.
At the end of the day, SAM is but one small drop in the bucket. In order to truly secure achievements, you would have to remove things that make gaming as a whole, and PC gaming in particular fun and unique.
