Badges for 100% Achievement Completion Per Game
I very much so enjoy the leveling feature of steam profiles, although one thing that seems missing is an easier way to level without having to spend money on trading cards to earn game badges or spending money on games to get points and buy the levels of the current seasonal badge. Adding a third badge per game for 100% achievement completion would be a cool addition for people who want to rep a badge of their favorite game on their profile but don't want to find people to trade or spend money on the market.

Drawbacks are, yes I'm aware trading cards aren't that expensive on average, usually only a few cents per, but you can't just spend a few cents on the marketplace since it comes out of your steal wallet and you can only add funds to your wallet in $5 increments. Another potential issue is that its very easy to cheat achievements using programs like SAM so maybe only specific games that have safety measures for their achievements against external programs can get a 100% achievement badge.

All in all I think it would be a neat new feature to implement to add another form of profile leveling and give a new way to show off your achievements rather than just the standard "achievements showcase" on your profile.

SAM and Valve's stance toward it negates this suggestion.

If you want a platinum award, play on console.

I was referring to Valve's stance on SAM, the Steam Achievement Manager that enables you to just unlock any cheevo with the push of a button.

Their stance is they don't care about people using it and it's too much trouble to deal with it's existence so they don't.

They do care somewhat but the measures to verify achievements are way to costly and are available to devs without Valve stepping in.

It also would require games to be constantly online which Steam is not a fan of forcing.

thats crazy that they dont care about something like that that artificially changes people's on profile stats, i understand if it might not be top priority but not caring at all is surprising

I posted it in the "Possible method of validating achievements" thread 2 days ago.

Why is that surprising. Companies are no different than people in that different people care about different things. I would venture to say most people on Steam don't care all that much about achievements, so why should Valve?

At the end of the day, SAM is but one small drop in the bucket. In order to truly secure achievements, you would have to remove things that make gaming as a whole, and PC gaming in particular fun and unique.

It's crazier that people are so serious about virtual medals. Play for fun, not to show off tiny squares of pixels.

Or the fact they want a reward for getting rewards
