im having to work around this by adding a nickname to someone after I add them,
then checking my "invitations sent" view to see whether the invite has been dealt with.
then searching my friends list for that nickname to determine if it was an accept rather than a decline.
some kind of "blah has accepted/declined" would be nice!!
maybe not "declined" since we're bound to get cries of "potential abuse".
maybe a section in the friends list that a "new friend" gets placed into until a chat with them is opened?
and... it's not about other people becoming friends, it's about our own requests we've sent.
too many replies in this forum are "here's a work around so your suggestion can be dismissed", sorry about that.
The activity feed informs that, indeed. Finding that in the activity feed can be like finding a needle in a haystack, though, especially for those with many (and hyperactive) friends, because your feed can become huge.
Well, I don't see the need to make it optional either... but, you know Steam users.
Maybe you should re-read the op.
Not sure what's your point, I clearly said it should be optional.
