WASD - Default Configs
I'm just wondering if I'm the only person who doesn't use WASD as their movement key mapping. Instead I use ESDF, which is one key to the left, but it gives me access to both W & Q and R & T. Left Shift, Ctrl and "\" are also a little easier more comfortable with my pinky.

First thing I do with a new game is re-map the keys. This does have its problems as some game updates re-set the key binding meaning I need to re-map. Some games have multiple modes (foot or vechicle) which have seperate mapping. Worse, some games have modes that don't have an option to map. One of the Far Cry games only used WASD in map mode even if movement was re-mapped.

We need a universal mapping scheme that lets you map your bindings on your PC and the games pick that up and use that.

The default setup is setup by the developer, you would have to contact them to have it changed, but this been a default for as long as I can remember there being games that used keyboards. Its never going to come to steam to make a universal mapping scheme because not every config is setup the same way. It would be nearly impossible to setup something like this. Heck I've asked for a way to save games like this into one folder, and was basically given the same answer.

And I also do not use the default. I have big hands so I moved things over a little more cause I can reach over half the keyboard with just one hand.

R reverse
D left
F forward
G right

I like this setup cause my middle finger sits on the F key which has a bump on it and tells me I'm on the F key so I don't need to look down to make sure I'm actually in the right spot when I take my hand off the keys to go press one of the G keys or one of the other keys on the other side of the keyboard.
A southpaw friend of mine swears by GlovePie.
Implementing an input wrapper in Steam in case something that should be standard is missing is a bit overkill, IMO. Especially when most people are still fine.
