Various tools can be found in the chrome store.
Also I know about "mal" plugins that's why I mentioned having an automated system in place akin to Googles Bouncer.
In the end sure some people may be malicious but I think most would actually contribute good things. Also if we had a permissions system showing what a plugin needs access to etc, it would allow people to have some insight on what the plugins they are getting do before they are installed.
Ah I see that's what you meant. I guess something like that would be useful. (I wouldn't know because for me attempting to watch a youtube video in the client results in it freezing...)
But not to derail the conversation, I do think that your idea to allow the adblock plugin would be nice now that I understand what you mean. It would definatly be nice for less advanced users or for users who can't or don't want to edit their hosts file.
No, that is a horrible idea, it would be a tool for all kind of abusive persons.
If you need a fullblown browser use one, the one in steam is not meant for dayli surfing.
It just does screenshots...which is a good addition.
But I was thinking if I could build a plugin to do screen recording that would be really fun
And no I have done nothing like that.
But if there is one like me then there could be one that knows what to do.
Yes it would be very hard for Valve to make sure that MAL plugins were squashed and not distributed but damn it they don't make games anymore so Steam should be awesome.
