ability to sort games by percent of discount offered when shopping
I would like to see a new method of sorting games: Sort by Percent of Discount offered.

Sorting by price is not effective. I want to find a deal on a good game. Not get a giant list of trash games. Generally speaking, a game that retails for $30 and is currently $3 because it is 90% off is of much higher quality than a $3 game for sale at 0% off.

So, as well as relevance, price high/low and etc, i would like to see the game sort drop down tool menu also sort games by "Percent of Discount" or "Best Sales" or "Highest Discount" or some such name that sorts by percent of discount offered.

The asking price of a product does not necessarily speak of the quality of a product. There are multiple examples for that.

That would be a good addition to the sorting.

Gao Li, i agree, price does not always denote quality. Hence why i said "generally speaking". There are many excellent high quality games from the 80s, 90s and etc. Currently playing through baldur's gate. A fine example of a high quality older game i picked up on sale.

It would still be useful to have a sort by sale option in the sort menu. A nice easy way to reward game developers who take a leap and put their title up for sale at a discounted price. Win/win for customer and developer.

Also generally speaking games with a higher discount don't move much units otherwise. Read: the 80-90+% range will be filled with games you have no interest in.

Of course, if it was THEN possible to arrange that list in order of price, we could check to see if there are any games that appear at (let's say) $10 which would be those that are normally ~$100. Among them we might just find something we're interested in.

This is why it would be good for Steam to contain a comprehensive variety of filters that can be added, subtracted, and combined.
