Windows emulator for Linux by Steam
As time goes on, I hate Windows more and more. WIn 7 was great...I love Win 7 and still use it. Then win 8 sucked. People are saying good things about Win 10, but the way Microsoft rammed Win 10 on us like a scammer pusing malware, IT SHALL NOT PASS my router! If I wasn't a gamer, I'd drop Windows in a heartbeat and switch to Linux (Mint is best for n00bs, as easy to use as Windows, and the desktop looks and works just like WIn 7. Ubuntu and Debian are far more powerful and capable, but the desktops aren't at all intuitive, and you need to be a super nerd to install anything on them.).

Anyway, back to my point. I wish Steam would produce and release professional-grade emulator that runs on Linux and emulates Windows/DirectX 100% so that any Windows game we download from Steam will run perfectly.

C'mon, Steam! Make this! Not just for us, but do it for yourself so you can rake in even more buckazoids! Everybody will win-win!!!

Nah, won't happen. Valve are too heavily invested in their own version of Linux to go down that route, plus they'd be reinventing the wheel as most other people use WINE or something similar for this purpose.

I'd also question whether Valve's current development staff are actually skilled enough to produce such an emulator.

Companies that are dedicated to stuff like that, that have been working on stuff to get windows programs/games to work on Linux for a long time can't make them work 100%, what makes you think Valve would have anymore luck?

WINE is fine, but you gotta be a geek to install it and configure it. You're both probably right, but if a big company put some serious buckazoids behind making something that's a commercial product with AAA standards, it could work 100%.

Valve aren't what you'd probably class as a big company. In fact, according to their WikiPedia page, in 2013 they had a total workforce of just 330 people... not exactly huge for a company with such a massive presence in the PC games marketplace.

There are other programs that use WINE for window gaming. WINE it's self isn't that hard, just takes a bit of reading.

In order to fully play games on Linux, a company would have to use MS's assets...their copyrighted assets. That would end the project quickly and the company would get sued out of buisness.
