Recommend / Share a game with a friend

Hi guys, I just wanted to suggest a simple but REALLY needed feature to Steam. A "recommend to (or share with) a friend" button, inside every game's store page. Like, how can you guys not have this?
More than 10 times I've been browsing the store, found a game that a friend would love but I just didn't have a way to share/recommend it easily! I had to open my friendslist, search for my friend, see if he/she is online to chat.... well, you guys could even create a new queue with "recommended by friends" section. The present "recommendation" system based only in ratings after playing a specific game is not enough, with this new feature many friends could show me games they find interesting without even having to buy and play so I could see them reviewing it.
I hope people agree and you find this idea useful, cuz I really do!

Already exists:

Right click -> Copy URL -> Message your friend with something like "Hey, just found this game. It might interest you: [insert url]

As I said on the mais thread, I find that really complex. With a button on the store page, Steam could get statistics about which games are being recommended a lot. Also, linking that to the Queue page could draw more attention to recommendations. Anyway, I find it weird to link the games through URL, if I wanted to do that I would use Steam on my browser and recommend them on Facebook or whatever while the idea of having a notification with "Games recommended by my friends" seems pretty nice to me.

Fully agreed. This would be a simple way for you to increase your sales via making it easier for a one click suggestion. Maybe a button with a dropdown listing your fiends. Or the ability to drag a game from my library to a friend chat window.

Isn't that what the purpose of a review popping up in the Activity Feed is?


An interesting idea but I suspect it would be very spammable... of course if it was spammed you could just unfriend the offenders...

.... also just seems too complex for minimal reward...

You have almost 2,500 hours on DOTA2, but copying and pasting a URL is too complicated?
