Discord overlay
Just like the screenshots on steam remove the Cursor, do you think it's possible for the devs to somehow figure out a way to remove the overlay for VC on the screenshot? I have a ton of screenshots with the overlay on and says a bunch of my friend's discords and it could be a security problem for those with little knowledge on this issue.

Is this a suggestion to Discord? If it is then head to Discords own forum to post the issue there.

Why remove the cursor?

What is "Overlay for VC on the screenshots"?

What possible security threat are your friends talking about?

Your post at the moment makes very little sense.

I was saying, that just like the screenshot takes out the cursor in the image, the screenshot should take away the overlay too. It doesn’t pose as much of a security problem as it just somewhat obstructs the image

Overlay will only show up if you actually have it up. So this shouldn't be an issue when taking screenshots normally. The Overlay being the Shift+Tab(default combination) to open it.

If you're talking about the HUD that displays health, ammo, status and other things it's up to the game itself to have an option to remove it.

If I'm reading your opening post right this isn't about the Steam overlay, but about Discord's overlay for voice chat. If that is the case you can go into your settings < keybinds < and create a keybind of your choosing to turn the overlay on/off.

While that's not the automatic solution you're looking for, it's the best that exists. Discord is hooking the calls the game uses for rendering and then draws the overlay. Think of it like a middleman who is intercepting a request for a painting and inserting it's own instructions for how that painting should be done i.e. the overlay is rendered through the game's output just like the images you see in game.

From the perspective of Steam, Discord's overlay is part of the game itself and it can't differentiate between the two. This is not the same with the mouse which is typically rendered by the OS, except in a few niche applications, so from the perspective of Steam when taking a screenshot, it doesn't exist.

I don't like how the discord voice overlay shows up in Steam Screenshots. Would be great if either or collaborate so maybe it shows on a top layer separate from the game so it doesn't get screenshotted?
