SteamClient on High DPI displays - Too small text or blurry text
I have just installed a 1440p 27'' monitor on a Windows 8.1 PC.

Windows 8.1 is capable to scale the system and all its apps to fit the screen. I have set the global scaling to 135%. It is quite obvious that some apps natively supports this scaling and still look supercrips no matter what i put the value to be. Chrome and Libre Office does this. Steam and Skype for instance, doesen't. The biggest problem is that the TEXT gets BLURRY.
There is an option to manually set the scaling to be 100% (no scaling) for the Steam Client only. The text gets crisp, but everything will then be super small. Either way my eyes hurt :(

This is a know problem and it is explained here on Microsofts own support pages--- >> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2900023

From the support page:

"For applications that do not scale correctly for use on high-DPI displays, Windows enables a feature that is known as DPI Virtualization. This enables the application to run as if it were on a lower-DPI display. Windows will then scale up the application's graphical display appropriately so that it is shown at the appropriate visual size for the high-DPI display. However, this has the side effect that the application's text and graphics will not be as crisp and clear as an application that is natively rendering its output for use on a high-DPI display.

For software developers, there is more information about how to write high-DPI applications on the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN).

I suggest to try and fix this.

Sincerely, Jonas
Steam fanboy

There are a few treads abut these all ready, maybe add your support to one of the existing once?
Yes, I couldn't find any posts about this at first glance. Maybe I should take a close look.
Until valve implements it's own solution, I think making customs skins would probably be the best bet. It seems that if you run steam with a -dev switch, you can hit F6 to run the VGUI util which you can use to make skin for your client where you can mod things like box sizes and font sizes and as a skin the mod will persist across updates. You can instructions for it ...\Steam\skins\skins_readme.txt
