and to brian, remain calm, it is merely a discussion, is it not?
accusing me of "manufacturing lies" is slanderous, and hypocritical.
it's also inaccurate, i tell no lie, I'm simply asking questions.
and since this thread is about "knowing the rules", please do point to the rule about lying
Hm what makes you think that this thread is targeting specific users?
haha!
Better than some others would be. :P
There was quite a number of daily reports when we still were around, guess that hasn't changed much. Bear in mind it's not just forum reports. There's also UGC and user profile reports.
Steam Support and the Steam moderation teams are separate. Paid mods can manage moderation related support tickets, but they neither are nor work as Steam Support agents.
I suggest Warhammer 40K, if you have the money to go down that rabbit hole.
The lore is great, it's truly a fantastic universe. I recommend learn a bit about Orks. That'll get you hooked.
You'll have a much better time with that than policing the forums.
Here's what I suggest. Rather than a quiz. A confirmation delay. Say 2 hours after reporting you're sent an email asking you to confirm, with a timed window for response, asay 1 hour.
your OP kinda implies that. Also nobody ever said to report your posts about "trolling" anywhere, so not sure why you think that.
Its just funny that I actually did report your posts calling others "troll" and boom minutes later you make that topic with that weird introduction about how everyone is false about the forum rules :D
now I have to wear my tin foil hat again.
What you're calling "paid mods" are Steam Support members, the distinction is meaningless.
That has nothing to do with the topic. It is a great series, but that's not what this is about.
I wonder why they haven't actually done any automation in regard to changing names upon detection or use attempt. To answer your Q; not report abuse.
Especially without volunteer mods around to clean up the usual messes quickly. I've seen and reported a few spam threads in a single day (one spam of its type is 1 report with the link to all threads), bad malicious content (phishers disguised as video sites, "tournament" phishing sites etc), and numerous piracy links someone put up, which as we all know is something they REALLY don't like having around. Easily was at least 5 in a short period, so let alone weekly reports it's easy to hit 5+ in a short period of time even on a lunch break, let alone traveling on an aircraft.
That is a good example of why it was an awful idea.
Thank you for admitting the statement was made up, its sad that some user have to make up stuff because they can't have an actual discussion...
Not really unless you didn't read it. Doesn't refer to anyone knowing anything about knowing when a post is reported.
Also never mentioned anything about anyone reporting posts or trolling, perhaps you need to take a few minutes to re-read the thread as you appear VERY confused.
Well considering my comments broke no rules thanks for proving my point and showing the value in making users read the rules, clearly people don't understand them.
your OP is literally about "trolling"... jesus! just stop. Also how is me reporting a post a sign that you didn't break any rules?
Is like saying your posts that got removed amongst others in the "tougher ban" topic didn't break any rules... obviously I have my theories why that is and they are pretty known by now and of course I know that my reports won't do stuff..
I will not even bother, you stay blocked.. bye
I just use them and I enjoy it more than I enjoyed Warhammer 40K, it's just not my type of game, and not that I even got the time for it
Regardless I think you missed the idea, the posts are taken form the most casual browsing, I had days I went to work, did the 14 wins to get the skin in Overwatch (twice also for my sister) and still got more than 5 reports, and that is beside reports on bad actors on just spam that was my point
That was a terrible suggestion, nothing more for me to add on that
