A porn filter.

Please give us a separate filter for porno. I don't want to filter games with adult content such as gore but I don't want porn in my feed all the time.

Well since they said a SEPARATE filter, and the porn one is on the same place as the only other filter I assumed which to be fair was probably a mistake on my part...

I think you are correct.

Supposedly, people turn the filter off because they don't want to go through the hassle of figuring out what is meant to be filtered and whatnot. It's too much work to put labels on everything, especially if whatever is on display is not real. It feels like having to censor an action-figure, statue or mannequin, and you may just as easily ignore it, if it doesn't interest you. That takes much less effort than having to categorize everything.

OOO thanks. I turned the filter and considerably reduced the amount of asian kids porn that appear in new and tranding. Also blacklisted "visual novels" and now i'm happy

They are uncheck by defalut, yes. The user needs to check them to see such content.

My account was created before Steam added porn. At some point steam got swarmed with it and i was just put up with it and even barely checked new and trending tab until my patience has runs out and i come here with a suggestion and saw this thread :D

I kinda wish they could create a separate category for NSFW stuff in the artwork section of games. Wouldn’t change much beyond one click for those that enjoy these and it would fix a lot of the complains I’ve seen over the years about it.

At that point, it would be entirely the users fault for clicking on that tab.

I had to enable the option to see porn on Steam, and my account was created in 2007/8.
So, no, you enabled the porn filter yourself.
Or someone with access to your computer did.

I had my family over and my little cousin wanted to play Fall Guys. So I let him play and then when I came back, he was confused looking at a Furry Cybersex game. My uncle came into the room and saw what he was looking at.

Now he wont talk to me because he thinks I'm into Furries. My whole family is shaming me because my little cousin was shocked to see such pictures at age 11.

This whole thing with indie games has ruined Steam more than it helped.

I will never forgive you Valve. Im just mad I cant take my business elsewhere because of all the games I have on this platform.

So, you literally caused this.

Don't be dishonest.
Everyone knows it's impossible to find Adult only games without enabling that option yourself.
