Posting a review is equal to making a POST-request to the store URL of the respective game. Since the URL is blocked in their region they cannot access them at all which blocks POST-requests as well
Ah I see, so you can't actually send them to the server, bummer. Thanks for the info
If a game is not allowed in your region it cannot be shown in any way. Steam HAS to follow the law, simple as that.
This tip does not mean you are banned by the country you are in. It could be that you are banned by the publisher because of currency fluctuations. It is not as simple as you say. If it is banned by the state, it will be banned at the beginning, or it will be banned a few days after the launch, it will not be banned after several years of purchase.
The only time it won't show in the store is if it's banned for sale in your region. Also games can be banned years after purchase, look at Germany for instance with lots of games being removed due to changes in their law in the last year or two.
In my case some publishers suspended all games sales where I live a few months back, but the games themselves aren't actually banned in here. This is the error the store throws for me:
Its link is: https://store.steampowered.com/app/242800
But you are unable to see it and there are a few more games like that
I do think they may not want to show a store page the publisher asked to close, and I am pretty sure the publisher may not want to try to filter or clear reviews for a game they may not be selling anymore, even more, if said publisher left Steam
Over all, the library I think provides a nice amount of info, even though maybe it can add some more to help users remember what is what if needed
For example, Rocket League is initially available for purchase on Steam China. Rocket League on Steam has been suspended in China due to the publisher's partnership with Tencent to launch the game on Chinese game platform WeGame.
Rocket leage also rdmoved from Steam as Epic Games buy them out no? or pay them to move
It was acquired by Epic long after it was taken off the market in China. I want to express that it is not the deletion that leads to the inability to visit the store, but the additional regional exclusive agreement in China that leads to the prohibition of sales in China.
I think buying a game on Steam is buying a service, not just owning the right to play the game. This is the digital age, not the disc age.
I paid for the game, there's no way I owe it to anyone.
There are games that you buy because you read the description on the store page, and then one day you're told, "You can't access it." The store page is not accessible, like when I bought the game with the manual, but the publisher unilaterally confiscated the manual for the game.
The store page, reviews, and all other community features are not part of that transaction and can be withheld or removed for any reason they want
If that's Valve's wish, and I respect that, I'll spend less on Steam. Hopefully one day you'll be happy when the games in your library are banned from sale.
