hide game bans just like vac bans after ~2600 days
why do vac bans get "invisible" after ~2600 days from the profile but game bans dont? arent they almost like the same? you maybe have done stupid things if you were young but game bans to still show after like 7 years or even more is unreasonable imo.

No, in fact I don't think they should be invisible after 7 or 8 years. Oh and it vanishes for everyone else, but YOU still see it if I remember right.

You knew better then to cheat, you should live with that forever as a scarlet letter. As a reminder to NOT do it again.

I was young once, I never cheated in a game because I knew it was wrong. Don't use "did stupid things because I was young" as an excuse.

Only invinsible to others. It's always visible to the owner.

Don't like it do like soooo many others and create a new account. You can always family share the banned account to access the majority of games just fine. Not the game with ban/s, obviously.

I didn't cheat when I was young and neither did anyone I know, to my knowledge. My brother did. Doesn't use a banned account now.

I have no idea, I just wish it didn't vanish. But at least the one who cheated gets to see it for as long as they use that account.

Maybe its an option that the developers of the games have maybe they can't.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. The age of the person cheating is irrelevant.

You know what is unreasonable? Cheating in games. I'll never understand how can someone derive pleasure from "winning" if the enemy never had a chance. Cheaters are the criminal scum of the gaming universe, so stop crying like you were a victim. In a perfect world you would never play a MP game again.

Another hastily implemented punishment feature that was never given a second thought about after they added it or they just forgot to add the code to hide it like vac bans. Who knows why?

Bans should always stay visible to others in my opinion. They are branded for a reason.

Anyways your account has a 7 years old ban and you admit on your profile that you currently are 18 years old. That means you were 11 years old when this account was banned. So you either bought your account and directly violated the Steam SSA since it never was your account to begin with or you were at most 11 years old when you first created your account which means your weren't old enough to sign the SSA in the first place. Eitherway your account should be permanently terminated.

You can't. You can simply create a new account and boom... unbanned

You can still play the game, just not on vac enabled servers.

New account does NOT mean unbanned. The account gets banned NOT the user. No amount of new accounts gets a single account unbanned.

Fail to see why cheaters have a issue with their punishment. If you dislike the ban and it's being visible on the profile just create new accounts and Family share your games to the new account. Not rocket science.

I cheat all the time.

Or they got the account created by their parents or at least with their blessing.
The 13yo clause is simply because companies are not allowed to knowingly collect data of underage (<13) children. And COPPA received an overhaul that forced services to post a parental notice and stuff in 2013. So it might as well be that this clause wasn't even in effect when they created their account and they were 13 when it did.
Hell, even Steam support tells you to create accounts for your children and use Family View.

Also, there is a reason most modern societies do no longer engage in branding criminals, believe in second chances and rehabilitation and seal juvierecords.
But hey, nobody ever claimed "gamers" are a civilised society ...
