A way to block Dating sims/Anime games on the Store front page
I'm sick of these huge-breasted dating-sims showing up on my "FEATURED"-page.
In my queue I've blocked the anime-tag and the datingsim-tag but that doesn't work on the front page.

Preferably I should be able to block tags or genres as I see fit.

Not on the featured lists. These are the shopping window of Steam.

Yes, I know. But if my local board games shop started showing big breasted anime-characters in the shop window I'd take my business elsewhere. or at least I'd tell them I don't want to see it.

It's a computer, they show me recommendations based on my meta-data all the time, why not NOT show something I'm never going to buy which I always check "Not interested on"

And they probably would tell you to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because they're a shop and their goal is to sell stuff. If ithey decided big breasted anime characters are what brings customers to the store, they would do just that. And no one would care about your complaints or about you taking your business elsewhere.

I never, I repeat, NEVER, see anything in my front page that I have marked as "not interested". If you're browsing new releases or sales, then sure, you may see things, but my queue and recommendations pages only have things I could be interested in, or at least things I don't hate, since customising things is so limited still.

And again, I never see any game in my store page that I have marked as "not interested", unless it's a new release or a featured daily/midweek/weekend sale.

I came to the boards to say this exact thing. Just when you think anime couldn't get worse, dogs with gigantic tits are suddenly featured on steam.

haha

I don't even know where you see that stuff. All I see on the main page is the teaser for the RPG-Maker sale and Negligee under New Releases.

Right now, I have Negligee in the large "featured" window, and "Crush Crush" or some ♥♥♥♥ under "new releases". Yesterday it was some game with "sexy" anthropomorphized house pets. Before that there was a series of high school dating sims. I mark all of them as "not interested" because I hate them with unrelenting passion. It would be nice to just be able to preempt these things with a "don't show me anime" option. Perhaps someone at valve is trolling me.

I'm sorry, but I can't take your answer seriously since based on your avatar you are part of the problem :P

Then I suppose you will continue to see anime stuff, since factual information and advice on what to do to avoid them can't be taken seriously based on my avatar.

You didn't post any advice on how to get rid of them.
That you don't see anything on your front page that you have marked "Not interested" might be true, but it doesn't solve the problem. I still need to go into every f-ing Anime-dating-sim and press NOT INTERESTED. I should be able to state somewhere that I'm not interested in anything that identifies itself as a datingsim, minecraft clone or free to play collectible card game.

91 hours in metal gear solid suggests your quite content to play games with ridiculously shaped and scantily clad women in. Theres your meta-data.

Glad I'm not the only one who got those games on the front page.

Please let people opt out of visual novels (hiding them completly from their view of steam), they barely count as games anyway.

The meta-data should also state then that I had her fully clothed ASAP and mostly played with the dog.
