Kodi and Steam integration.
Kodi and Steam big picture work great in their own right, however it would be even better if somehow there was a way to incorporate them both into a seemless UI.

There was this solution a while ago:
https://www.addictivetips.com/media-streaming/kodi/steam-games-on-kodi/

But that add-on has been abandoned. There is also this however it won't install in Kodi: https://github.com/BrosMakingSoftware/Kodi-Launches-Steam-Addon

Anyone else had luck with Kodi and Steam integration?

It appears the link might have had triggered the language filter, apparently it thought part of the name was a bad word.

Until Kodi can improve its reputation with legitimate publishers, this might be an uphill battle to convince Valve to have any official support.

Probably beause Kodi is Linux. Not too many games in Steam Client run on Linux.
The media center is one thing Steam games launcher is another.

Hi Jaunitta. That's actually not true. Here's the Windos 10 version. You can also download it for MacOS too. It's awesome software in my opinion. https://kodi.tv/download
Kodi is gray area software and considering that Valve has a very clear stance on piracy...this will never happen.

Kodi has absolutely nothing to do with piracy, and piracy itself is irrelevant to this discussion.

Kodi is a media library and player. There is nothing shady about it.

Exactly. Some people are just paranoid wierdos. According to his logic: VLC=Piracy, iTunes=Piracy, Breathing= Piracy.
Yes, weirdos...that is why every YouTuber that discues Kodi on their channel also suggests using a VPN. Hmmm..I wonder why?

Not to mention that the use of a VPN is not allowed at all and Valve may terminate your Steam account. Which, is worse than ANY type of ban.

Incorrect. VPNs are recommended for Kody IF you install an Add-on from unknown sources, and Kody has this feature disabled by default.

If Steam had integrated Home Theatre capabilities like the XBone or PS4 I wouldn't even be asking the question.

Now, addressing your other hyperbolic brain fart:

I won't even contribute an observation about your nonsense, but I will present you with the official Steam stance on VPNs:

"Hello,

Playing games or operating Steam while using a VPN is not strictly prohibited.

However, it may affect gameplay and the Steam client itself.

A Steam account will only be restricted for actions that violate the Steam Subscriber Agreement or Steam Online Conduct Rules, so please keep in mind that purchasing games while your VPN is active is a violation of our Terms of Service.

If you have any further questions, please let us know - we will be happy to assist you."

Now, something that's actually from the SSA, instead of Reddit:

https://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/
You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content, to purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account

There is a Zero-Tolerance policy for any violations of the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Online Code of Conduct. All accounts in a user's possession for any of the following activities will be suspended

Piracy or Hacking
This includes using an unauthorized ("hacked") Steam client to access Steam, attempting to register fake CD Keys or attempting to register a CD Key which has been published on the internet

So are you going to sit there and say that Valve wouldn't have a problem with a program that allows access to basically any movie...for free? Given what I posted here? A suspended Steam account = useless and it happens to ALL accounts in your possession...not just one

Kodi in itself does not give you access to illegal content.
If you would want to use that stuff you have to get active yourself to get those addons (which might fall under illegal content) which are not available in the official kodi addon sources.

But under your aspects....please stop using any device which can be connected to the internet or is capable of running movies & stuff, as those could be used for illegal things as well.....

For whatever reason you are intent on derailing this thread by trying to smear every casual multimedia experience as an act piracy. :steamfacepalm:

You fool no one with your baiting. You have been blocked. You will have more fun pessing in the wind than trying to respond to me with the idiocy you have presented here. Have a day, and good riddance.

Exactly. You could do numerous illegal acts with a hot cup of coffee or any inanimate object for that matter, what's really curious about the turn that this discussion has taken is why anybody in their right mind would have piracy and VPNs tattooed on the brain so hard that an innocent discussion about Kodi would invoke such an ill tempered individual to have an apoplectic fit.

Right. Whatever.
Kodi is just as shady as BitTorrent, both are used for perfecty legal purposes, some people just don't know what they are talking about.

In short, Kodi is not shady, it's a mediaplayer, and a really good one.

BTW.
Some people abuse Steam for gambling/scam sites, does that make Steam shady, of course not.
