REVERT THE ENTIRE DOWNLOAD FUNCTION TO THE 2015 version

Why? BECAUSE WHOEVER WROTE THE NEW CRAP SUCKS AT HIS JOB. the old steam could deal with even the most unstable connectiions while this new one needs fast Wifi like in South Korea. i remember downloading games with one of the crappiest routers out there AND IT WORKED. so how many times does steam ping the download servers to check if they are there? how about fixing that instead of reverting if you can. if it doesnt download just because it doesnt know that the server is literally there... then your juniors i assume implemented a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bug.

I've had several AAA and indie games launched through Steam simultaneously for a stress test, it may be 32-Bit, but the entirety of how Steam is, 64-bit only would be as bad of a move as when apple forced 64-bit only support. There would be little to no gain whatsoever.

I do use Torrent from time to time to download large mods and free games that give the option because it is usually faster and more reliable than using the direct download offered alongside it.

Notice the less than 1%. In that very specific instance, it falls under that minor percentage. The rest of the reason for having it however, would be under scrutiny as mod sites have very quick download speeds.

You're probably acting clueless on purpose but I'll break it down for you anyways. He utilized a highly effective figure of speech, which puts emphasis on his original statement regarding the technical differences between 32 and 64 bit, and that had absolutely no implications to piracy or whatsoever. It doesn't even matter if his claims are true (is utorrent unstable or not?), he made a very clear comparison, which was so easy to understand that probably my 5 years old son (who doesn't even know what the heck utorrent is) would get it.

Well fix whatever problems you're having, you can re-queue downloads at any moment, but you need to fix whatever is causing your issues rather than hoping everything else will work around your problem. Start troubleshooting & fixing your problem, if something is failing or damaged you need to find out. If you're using splitters, stop using splitters before your modem or get a better quality one.

Also, older versions of Utorrent don't have that cryptominer wildness, although you have to actually choose to install that.
Nexus's download speed isn't horrendous.

Pretty sure Steam gets more than 1GB even in Big Picture Mode. WebHelpers are in separate 64-bit processes already.
