Get rid of the awards system, its being used to passively insult players.

Since this system's inception, this awards system has been used to passively insult players and publicly dissuade players from even taking part in the thread's discussion. Let me ask you this: How often do you even bother with a thread that has been marked with the "jester" or "Hilarious" award if the thread title is something you MIGHT consider to be a troll thread or a topic about a mechanic that is commonly seem as good but this person says otherwise?

As much as I hate the awards crap and want it to go away forever, they are giving you free points to get free items with. Big deal if they are using the "jester" & "Hilarious". Just ignore them and move on.

I don't even notice the awards, so it's a complete non-issue for me.

The award system has been bad since the start of it. I do agree that there are users that abuse and misuse system that is added to Steam, but I am fine with awards when they can be hidden, everyone pretty much wanted them to be hidden on profiles and they did it, they should be able to be hidden on forums and other areas on Steam if people don't want to see them (but would still be able to get them if someone wants to give them).
