Hide Adult Content in profile
Since Steam allows adult games on the site, I think it would be nice if there was an option to hide those games in your profile, so you can stop your friends and family from seeing what kinda thing you play while shaking hands with the milkman, and when you do it.
I don't own any adult games here, nor do I have anyone added I really care about, but I'm sure many do and it just seems like a obvious and sensible option to have.

I understand some people have no use for such a feature, but i don´t understand why some people are against it. It´s just that some people like to have a bit control of there privacy.

IMO no matter if you plan to use such a feature, you should not be against it being added, some people want to share all that they are doing online, some wants to share nothing what they own or play, and some wants to share some of it. Give people the option what to share.

I do read that you should not care what friends/family thinks of your games, but i do understand some don´t want girlfriend/boyfriend, wife/husband, sister/brother parents ect. to see everything, i mean alot of people don´t want to share every website they visited with friends/family.

The argument "don´t care what people think" is not really a good one, almost every one care what others think one way or another, and that is good the world would be alot more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if we didn´t care.

Just let people choose what they put out there, privacy is not what it used to be, but it would be nice to be able to have some without jumping trough hoops to get it.

I still go by what I said in the many other threads like this and that is if you can't be an adult or live with what others see you play or own then you either should not buy them or make another account for those types.

As said in other threads over time I have lightened up on this a bit and I guess it wouldn't hurt to be able to hide certain games if people wish but this thought has never been thought out all the way when a new thread pops up and that is other features would have to change and be tailored around hiding games like stores and how they show that you own something, on game hubs that shows that you own the game with the mouse icon on forums, friends activity feed and so on.

Just don't buy games that you are too embarrassed to have in your library or get a second account for such games.

I agree, I don't play any myself but more specific privacy options are required for our Steam profiles.

The second account thing is a workaround, sure. But my point is that it shouldn't be necessary. As I said, it's not really a problem for me, but I don't think it makes any sense to lack the option.

Why not just right click the game and click on hide game it dose not show up in games you own or play. Also you could always make your profile private if your that worried about it.

Doesn't that just hide it in your library? It stills shows up in your profile, I believe. Unless we're talking about different things.
And yes, making your profile private is the closest thing we have, but I think it's a shame we have to hide the entire thing just because you might not want the world to know the details of your banister polishing habits.

Well I posted a ticket a while back and they said they would look in to it. but it looks like games that are hidden still shows up on your profile and store page. I think the best way to get this fixed is if we start opening tickets to report it as a bug. If a lot of people report it there is a higher chance of addressing this.

There is nothing to fix because that is not a bug.

Creating an alt account is probably the better solution. Although to be honest the "adult content" on steam is pretty softcore - despite that being debateable. The topic is about using your catalog and being able to hide titles, once again, a second account feels like the logical solution here.
wolfknight 1/mai./2021 às 8:35
The logical solution is to build upon what has already been created.

We should expand upon the hidden option, using this should make the hidden game not show up on your profile and activity feed.

Why have a hidden option if all it's good for is to keep people from seeing it in your library?

How can you hide others adult content to prevent kids seeing when clicking around? Such as in their profiles / activity feed.

It’s not happening buddy. You’re going to have to keep buying your Hentai games and continue being the shame of the community openly. If I were you, I would embrace my inner gaming ♥♥♥♥♥, you’ll never be happier.

Steam should make a "steam pocket" same as total of the grid content.

They have full controll over their privacy. They can set their profile to private or friends-only so no one publically can see what games they are playing.

If they are ashamed of playing certain games they should either get a second account for that or don't bother buying them at all; Period. There are people fighting for their right to even buy the games they want while these people fight pretty much against it.
