We need a middle ground option between Recommended and Not Recommended
Probably been said many times before, but it's just really needed. A lot of new games get buried in "negative" recommendations even though people clearly mention stuff among the lines of "it's good but not great, needs work and time so don't yet purchase it". If only we could give games a rating that comes with a more "Neutral" approach, imo that would just be so much better.

This probably won't do anything, but I just felt like I wanted to post something about it.

Agree. Having neutral vote is very suitable in many occasions. It seems Steam is afraid that most games will get neutral reviews if Steam will allow us giving neutral reviews and it will be not informative to the potential buyer :D

Middle ground would still be "Not Recommended".

^This.
There is no middlle ground when ity comes to actions. You are either doing the action, or not.

It's not fear. Its pragmatism. Neuitral is functionallly useless in most situations.

Imagine you'r hanging off a cliff. You got one guy trying to pull you up. , another guy trying to pull you down. and a thrid guy just standing off to the side doing nothing. How rfelevant is that 3rd guy to your situation? I'll wager. not very.

Hence why Valve contextualizes the question around whether or not you will/won't do something, not about how you'feel' about something

If you can't say yes that you recommend a game, then thats a no. A meh or virtual shoulder shrug or I don't know means nothing, helps no one.

If you can't make up your mind, then just wait till you can or don't bother.

Course you would have seen all this before if you bothered to use the search feature before posting.

Where exactly is the middle ground between Yes and No in a yes-and-not question?
Do you recommend this game? Maybe. My, now that's helpful.

No it won't. The perpetuated fallacy by some forum users that only neutral reviews can be informative still doesn't hold true.

That is a No recommendation. They can update their review at a later date to reflect changes if any are necessary like, changing the No to a Yes.
